Got a Cameron 4x12

I ended up buying some original Celestion 80's (not lead CL80's) off of ebay last week so I may just end up putting them in the cab. Mark said the CL80's would be too dark...so the G12-80's might be really dark???

All G12-80s are brighter than CL80 and C90s. The lead cone version G12-80 is very similar (but better IMO) to the CL80/M90. Though all 3 of those are on the scooped side, the G12-80 being the least scooped.

Did you get the bass cone (55 hz) version ? I hope you did because that one is much better than any of the above and sounds absolutely like no other Celestion. They have ALOT of highs, mids, lows, everything. Very in your face, pissed off sounding and as close as I've heard to a EV/V30 hybrid.

I just sold off my MC90's and they were brighter than the 80's..

MC90s were brighter than CL80s, or a different set of old G12-80s ?

I'm curious which version you just bought. Let us know when they arrive.

So far I loaded it with original Celestion 65's and they seem brighter than they do in a Marshall cab...I have another quad of 65's in a Marshall cab that I am a/b ing. The bottom end it a little bigger though . I may try some Heritage Greenback 30's next. Dude - the G12H30s sound great in the Cameron cab... I have first hand experience of this fact...I'm so glad to hear you have your cab...

Try the Eminence "Private Jack" speakers. These sound closer to the original "greenback" than Celestion's reissue.
