Posted a thread where I ordered a Carvin V220 from GC used site and UPS delivered it to the wrong address. Neighbor across the street had it and gave it back to me the other day. When I opened the box and took it out of the case, it had significant damage on the body. I don't think it was shipping damage as the shipping box and case had no signs of damage, I think GC sent it out like that even though it was listed as in great condition. Pretty bummed because the guitar played really well but with the damage, I didn't think it was worth $1000.

With GC, it's always a gamble. I was watching an overpriced PRS on the GC used site for a while (waiting for them to discount it), when it finally sold. Lo and behold, it popped back up on the used site the other day in a different location. So, someone bought it and returned it. Still listed at the same price, still listed in the same condition. Makes me wonder if it got damaged in shipping, or maybe the new owner just didn't jive with it.

That's GC for you. Let me guess, they listed it as excellent?

Damn, that sucks. I ran into that too with a 4x12 I got from them. When I called them, the only option was to return it. They'd rather eat shipping both directions on a 4x12 than give a post-sale discount on the cab based on the actual condition. I get it though. If they did the latter, then they'd be opening up themselves for any unscrupulous buyer to try to weasel a partial refund out of them.

They had it listed as great condition. They relisted it in fair condition, but kept the same price. I laughed when I took it back cause the GC employee doing the return told me they probably sent me a floor model, thats why it was damaged.

At least you can get your money back.. Just know that every punk ass in GC is a POS..
There is no reason for me to ever set foot in one again..

That sucks. So hard to get good description from used GC. Total crap shoot.

Good luck trying to return it after all this time if it was marked as vintage. Hopefully they do you right in some capacity. I've found that calling/bringing in to my local GC gets issues resolved quicker and more likely to get some sort of compensation if decided to keep. I usually start by asking for the equivalent to shipping and tax refunded for something around that level of an issue... YMMV.
