Great song . You know you love this

Oh I know, I’ve stared at your wall for fucking hours lol (pics and vids 🤣)

my core lead tone will always be BE100/SLO

For metal riffing, it’s MTL/Hermansson combo

And then others just add flavor. Those 4 amps above ended my tone quest

And I know saying BE100 is end all be all is anathema around these parts lol but god damn it’s home base 😅

I know I know…I’m a simpleton
That’s been my metal combo since HR came out . You make me laugh ! You’re wall probably bigger than mine !

They sound like a teenage band trying to emulate Metallica with their first original comps.

I think that was almost kinda the gist of what Rick Rubin told them.

"I tried to get them to re-engage with everything everybody fell in love with, with Metallica, in the first place.

"I got them to listen to the music that they were listening to at the time that they made 'Master of Puppets,' those influences. I asked them to live with those influences and spend more time playing together as a band.

"The other writing experiment I challenged them with was, 'Imagine there was no such band as Metallica. Imagine you guys are in the band that you are in, this band, and you're going to play in a Battle of the Bands. You want to blow people away. What does that sound like? Without the baggage of thinking it needs to be any certain thing, what is the thing that you feel like will tear the heads off of the audience?'"

I think it was pretty successful in that sense. It's raw and thrashy in a way that St Anger perhaps tried too hard to achieve for Metallica in their 40's. They needed a reboot after years of Bob and the 'St Anger' album's huge risk and its failings. Death Magnetic had its huge issue with the production and mix though no doubt. It's a shame because it really tarnished a solid comeback album from Stanger. People will never forget what they did there and many don't want to even give it another try with the fixed audio versions they released since.

While I like the last few albums, I feel like they've fallen into another path of least resistance rut with Fidelman really need another reboot. Too much complacency now. Maybe they're too old to really care that much to risk it again. At this age and point in their careers, I suppose why bother now. I really doubt we'll be seeing more than one more proper album out of them.

Nope I’m maxed out at 7 amps lol

I have a keeley Framptone with phase control so I can use Larry hers sin and wizard at once with low noise floor . Will be wild !

I have never heard of this….you can use more than two amps at once? What in the hell is this device?

ok @Techdeth i think this device is [edit: not exactly] what @Bxlxaxkxe was looking for...

can you do a demo...how the hell does this thing allow you to play both amps at once? do you already have a demo video of this magic box?

@glpg80 have you heard of this thing? just curious if you could re-engineer this magic box that apparently is now discontinued but allowed 2 amps to be played at once?

Unfortunately that’s just a simple ABY input switcher. It won’t let you play through the same cab at the same time.

oh i see, so the Y setting would be each amp through its own respective cab...nvm then...i was mistaken

Good song, the intro ruins my brain when the 2nd guitar comes in.

Are they recording with Fortin Cali? Idk why I dislike it but that Cali/Jose type thing they have here that everyone loves is not my cup of tea. I want to hear this tone with more saturation or gain.

Did the band say to him….
“Rick, imagine you’ve never recorded before. You don’t understand tones or dynamics or mixing. But you’re young and hungry and want to make the most devastating mix tape your school has ever smoked weed too, behind the bleachers. Hear the power of the marching band practice nearby. Use it on every intro for twice as long as necessary. Go!”
