Lemme guess you're on 3rd gear?

Me?
I use 1 or 2 boosted or my plexi boosted (even non-boosted..boomy!)

Boomy during palm mutes? Or overall? I'm asking because I've had a similar issue. It turned out to be the way I was palm muting.

So J-C, how the clone sounding through your Splawn cab?

Sounded great, for the day I had it.
My friend took it

It's overall.
When I try the heads through the Marshall cab, it doesn't do it.

Have you considered trying the Weber Stan Spec greenback speaker? Lots of guys say its a massive improvement over the Celestion GB reissue thats in a lot of cabs!

Dumb question, but does he call them that on his site, or do I have to use the custom form thing?
i think you have to use the custom order page, email ted weber and ask him..it may be your cab to,im not sure.its been about 5 years since i played reis greenbacks,i just rememebr them being very harsh sounding.i never liked them,i liked the g12h30 better..good luck..

Greenbacks that aren't broken in can sound harsh. But in general i consider Greenbacks to be some of the smoothest sounding speakers out there. The tone i have in my head is usually from older Marshall cabs from the 70's, either checkerboard or basketweave with original Greenbacks. Old beaten in Greenbacks just sound soo damm good.

What are your settings?

If i remember correctly (out of 10):
Competition: Pres4, Bass3-4, Mid6, Tre5, Gain4-5
Plexi: about the same, depending if i boost or not.

I can run the Plexi with the bass and mids on 10 with the Marshall cab and it sounds great.

Quickrod kicks ass with either Weber 1225's or Scumback M75 LHDC....great amp!
