Gretsch Players Edition G6128T or G6228?

I can't say I prefer one over the other, as they each have their own thing going on. I'm sort-of partial to the G6128T w/Bigsby. Gretsch is offering this in red sparkle, but they're strictly pre-order at this point. That Gretsch sound... yeah, I gotta have it!

I tried selling a rare '78 Gretsch Chet Atkins Super Axe on this site once. Nothing but crickets. Now if it was a zebra-striped Charvel or a flat-black 7-string....I would've had a ton of responses.

Those don't go either unless they are Jose modded.

Tough crowd... :scared:

Yeah, not a very diverse crowd on this site. I have a hard time visiting this site much for that reason.

I really like DuoJets and Gretsch's in general. I've been a huge fan of Billy Duffy (and the Cult in general) for years and have drooled for a while over his signature White Falcon. Maybe one day :)

FYI,

I did play one of the Electromatic series Jet's a few years ago. It was a pretty good guitar for the money.

I played an Electromatic at GC a few weeks ago. I'm returning a used Gibson tomorrow, so who knows, I may end up leaving with a Gretsch. :)

I watched a recent live clip of Billy Duffy playing a new PE model. He replaced the "v" stop tailpiece with a straight Gibson style, which looks a lot better IMO. The Players Edition models seem to be geared toward impressing the Gibson LP crowd.
