Had some time with a Ground Zero Hellion

Some of you guys probably saw Jeremy mention that he was sending an amp for me to make some clips. Pretty awesome do him as I’ve been interested in the Hellion for a while now.

Had the amp for about a week before I started asking if I could just buy the damn thing, so now it’s mine. The thought of sending it back just made me sad.

For a single channel amp, the options are damn near endless. Clip below is only beginning to scratch the surface of what’s inside here. Plexi tones, stock 800, modded Marshall type stuff, even Mesa/Mark tones with their own flavor. I honestly learn something new every time I plug in.

When you plug in, you can tell that its core is a Marshall circuit, but if you want, it goes so far behind anything Marshall. Huge tight low end and a really addictive juicy midrange quality.

Hey man, how do you like your MOAB? It’s the perfect modded Marshall tone while retaining the Marshall character, for me. What’s funny is I can still get it to nail stock 800 tones by dialing out the diodes. MOAB is slightly tighter but for recording purposes it’s virtually indistinguishable. That said, I mostly leave it set for high gain because it’s just “the Marshall but more” sound I’ve been looking for.

Genius business model you’ve got going. Send your amp for guys to demo, knowing they will be able unable to send it back to you 😂.

No really I appreciate you sending me this amp. I didn’t realize I needed this and now I’m addicted to it. It’s familiar but new and fresh at the same time. I feel really lucky.

What would be cool is to put together a user library of settings/tones. Might put a Google doc together that we can all contribute to
 
Yup...Sounds really good brother! I like the character of the mids and that fact that is plenty tight and aggressive...without that overly clanky bottom end with the palm mutes. Pretty amazing.
 
Holy shit, that sounds fucking great. There wasn’t a tone in there I didn’t dig, but what got me the most was I could hear the low end in the first part and I’m listening on an iPad.
