Has Rig Talk become The Gear Page ?

Citizens United is a conservative 501(c)(4) nonprofit organization in the United States founded in 1988. In 2010, the organization won a U.S. Supreme Court case known as Citizens United v. FEC, which struck down as unconstitutional a federal law prohibiting corporations and unions from making expenditures in connection with federal elections. The organization's president and chairman is David Bossie.[1

The justices who voted with the majority assumed that independent spending cannot be corrupt and that the spending would be transparent, but both assumptions have proven to be incorrect.

With its decision, the Supreme Court overturned election spending restrictions that date back more than 100 years. Previously, the court had upheld certain spending restrictions, arguing that the government had a role in preventing corruption. But in Citizens United, a bare majority of the justices held that “independent political spending” did not present a substantive threat of corruption, provided it was not coordinated with a candidate’s campaign.

As a result, corporations can now spend unlimited funds on campaign advertising if they are not formally “coordinating” with a candidate or political party.

How has Citizens United changed elections in the United States?
The ruling has ushered in massive increases in political spending from outside groups, dramatically expanding the already outsized political influence of wealthy donors, corporations, and special interest groups.

Bullshit. It was a direct result of the attempt by democrats to limit free speech around elections. Like a lot of stupid shit ( nuclear option, almost packing the SCOTUS and almost eliminating the filibuster) the democrats do it came back and bit them on the ass.

The US pays them, genius.
That’s such bullshit dude. It’s the same as saying a tax cut costs the government money. If it was simply an increase to US consumers all these countries Trump is threatening to hit with Tariffs wouldn’t give a fuck. It will cost them billions.

I don’t know why you lefties continue using the same old spin tactics that no one has fallen for in decades.

Explain to me who pays tariffs.

When you explain to me who pays for tax cuts and who’s money they use to do it.
You mean Trump's tax cuts that only benefit the 0.1%? It's hilarious. His voter base will wind up paying more while Elon, Bezos and all the other rich fucks get a huge tax break.
The middle and lower class pay to subsidize the rich.

More false bullshit from the guy with zero credibility. Pro tip. Don’t get information on economics from DEI hires.

"If you are extending the tax cuts and enacting tariffs and cutting Medicaid, that will deliver benefits more among higher-income households, and more of a cost will be born by lower-income households," Joseph Rosenberg, a senior fellow at the Urban-Brookings Tax Policy Center, a tax-focused think tank

Blah blah. My wife is a CPA and an economist. The fact is very few people have enough deductions to offset the standard deduction. Which was doubled. Most people got a tax cut. Period. You and CharvelDan need to take a class rather than just copy and pasting hit pieces and expecting anyone to take you seriously.
