Helios - new video - Doug Rappoport at LAAS

Reminds me of a fatter slightly darker Marshall... kinda like a 2555 Jubilee
 
Also I wonder if you can use an A/B box to switch between the hi/lo inputs......
 
I think this thing sounds great! I find that many modded marshall type amps take a little bit of what i love about marshalls out. They smooth them out some, and they do sound great don't get me wrong. This bogner seems to keep the rude and obnoxious upper mid that i really like. not saying this amp or other modded style plexi's are bad just different. would love to take one of these for a whirl :rock:

My thinking exactly :rock: Imagine if the Plexi Mode in the Ecstasy sounded like this.
I'd seriously consider this amp. I like it
 
I like dry amps personally. My main is an Ultralead, so I'm used to it. This amp wouldn't really work for what I'm doing right now, but I don't see anything wrong with RB trying something different than his norm. If you want a chewy Bogner, there are plenty of models out there that do that.
 
Much better video than the first one posted(obviously the player is the key). Doug can definitely bring out the best in amps! :thumbsup:
 
As usual Doug makes anything sound fantastic. On another note, was this a Bogner and Friedman show! Was there nothing else at this event worth taking pics of or talking about????? :confused:

yeah that's how i see it as well, but when you're hot you're hot.

getting harder to reinvent the wheel or put a new variation on an old theme these days.
 
Sounds really good to me. And Reinhold was closing Doug pretty hard to endorse Bogner...

just my humble opinion so take it for what its worth...
 
I think it's safe to say, the jury will be out till one or both of these things happen:
1. A better high-def video comes out with a professional run-through
2. These units start getting into peoples' hands and testimony starts coming to the surface

I'm intrigued at this point. Not blown away, intrigued.
