Any of you willing and able to help a fellow RT'er out with your Bogner Ecstasy Red pedal experience?

I've had one for quite a while and recently lucked my way into actual Bogner amplification, therefore, sold my 100% functioning Red pedal and the buyer is claiming it as defective 'cause he's not getting a whole lot of gain separation with the boost engaged. He's sent a video where the boost volume is at zero and - while I can plain as day hear gain differentation when he turns the boost gain knob - he's saying there's nothing therefore expects a return.

My experience with the pedal and amps is that the boost simply gives a broader sound when the volume is not utilized, however, simply roars when the volume is turned up. I also experienced drastic results based on the amp I ran it into. Fender was meh, Marshall plexi sounded really good and my Marshall 1923 (DSL, basically) absolutely ripped with the pedal.

As a RED OVERDRIVE pedal, I never ran it with dials low and expected to go from crunch to kill with the boost button.

Anyone???

cant give an opinion without seeing the video

Not asking for an opinion of the mentioned video, just user experience with the Red pedal. Thoughts on the gain on its own and with boost engaged. Anyone who's truly spent time with this pedal will know what I'm referring to.

Guy sounds like a noob. You don't owe him a return just because he doesn't like the pedal. I own a bogner red (and also an xtc classic) and honestly never use the boost function as I have other pedals I like better for that but it is a killer pedal for rhythm tones which is why it stays on my board.

This was very much my experience with it, as well...although I would use the boost more for an occasional volume bump. I feel the term BOOST is a bit misleading with this pedal as related to the boost gain. It's already a well saturated pedal and not a whole lot more happens gain-wise with the boost.

Anyway...I really do feel the pedal's just not providing the results the buyer wanted, not that it's not functioning correctly.

More experienced perspectives are appreciated.

EDIT: For the record: the buyer is being very cordial about this, no matter he was quick to the gun in saying the pedal is defective.

Agreed w/ above...sounds like buyer isn't distinguishing the difference between just not the right tone for him and what a real faulty pedal is or isn't doing for him. And, yes, you can clearly hear a change in gain/feel,etc when the boost is on..I don't use the boost too much, but I really like stacking the bogner blue w/ the red at times.Suggest to him to go over the small manual again, and pull some online cilps up on the pedal.
