i went through the pins on the preamp also cleaned all of them sound a little better but still not right

Do you know for sure what cab and speakers you were running through at namm? I'm
Thinking you might have been running through a g12k-100 loaded cab. Also were you using your guitar or one at the booth? There might be an tiny signal chain thing going on. Otherwise... I don't know how else we could help you unless you post up a room mic clip so we can hear how it sounds? Maybe you're just using too much gain? On channel 3 you'd never need to get about 10:00 for a good rhythm tone and on channel two between noon and two o'clock is plenty... I know I'm beating a dead horse with some of this but it's not like we have the amp in front of us or can hear what it's doing so troubleshooting past what most have said will be quite hard at this point.

it was the diezel frontloaded with K100 and i used the guitar at the booth

The Head Guru gave you his email. Did you send him a message?

yeah been emailing back and forth with him for a while now. i got it sounding better but i dont think its where it should be . most of the fuzz is gone but it is extremely compressed sounding at all volume levels on ch.3 mostly plus it seems to get better and then worse  i have some clips but the site wont let me upload them

Is this not something that'll will be hidden in a live situation anyways by the time you've got cymbal wash on top, or is it strictly a home-only amp? I've never heard one described as fizzy, other than when some tool has installed dodgy pre valves.

i wont be hidden from me... ill know its still there. but yes it is strictly for home and or recording use.

resoldered the preamp tube sockets and tightened up the socket pins. still waiting to hear back from peter on what i should do next

I cannot repair the amp by email or phone
without having it on the workbench.
Do have a skilled tech ?

Best,
Peter
