Herbert / MultiFX ? very confusing...

TC G-major2 is a great rack multifx,as we all said:
-great effects,
-easy interface,
-better than G-major 1,
-very transparent for the price,
-in some situation can be an all in one solution

More expensive brands like Eventide,Lexicon,Bricasti..etc are:
-sounding of course better,
-complex interface and algorithm placing,
-almost no tonal coloration,
-no all in one solution,
-not so guitar oriented like tc stuff GM2.

Price is an indicator of the quality, but money not always can buy "tone" IMHO. ;)

I will use my rhythm tone pure from the Herbert, a bit chorus on the clean and some delay on the lead tone.
Maybe some other effects for some special stuff, I want my sound with only one footstep, no pedalboard "stepping".
I am 24 hours into having a "one step setup" and am floored about it. So much easier to use. I am using a Herbert as my head, TC G major 2 for effects, and a ground control pro to control everything.

I just finished a few minutes ago getting some presets set up for when I step on button 1- I get clean with a little reverb, 2- hi gain crunch with no effects, 3- hi gain no effects, 4- mute on the herbert (to kill everything if I want too) 5- clean with reverb/chorus/delay, 6-hi gain reverb/delay/chorus.

As a side note to those using TC effects processors, what do you think of the on board noise gate? I am actually fairly impressed with it so far, is it really still worth using an ISP decimator?

An usable gate, but i remember the one in the G-system.(I really think they are the same)
For that reason i've said an all in one solution. ;)

Isp pro rack g is better but costs the same that the GM2 itself.

This thing really seems to work perfect.
Is it that much better then the GM1, or just more FX ?
It´s 444,- Euro GM2 and 200,- Euro GM1 (used).
That´s what I´m thinking about...

The G Major 2 is a great unit. Reliable, and sounds great. It was fairly easy to work, even for a guy like me who HATES processors.

In the end, I stayed the pedal route, because like I said, I HATE processors...too much to tweak IMO.

But the G Major 2 is a GREAT one for the price! I'd recommend it over the GM 1 for the very sake of reliability.

Sure Rob, you´re right.
The best comes pure out of the amp, but...
I´m a big Tool fan, and if I listen to them, makes me want some FX

Cheers !

It seems like adam uses a rotating encylclopedia of pedals on his tours some very subtle (like the mxr micro) and seems to change with every album, latest news he was using line 6 delay and modulation but I think he still is a boss fan. I could spend a months worth of income and still wouldnt even come close to being able to but a scratch on what that man does he is an effects junkie.

My GM2's noise gate works better and sounds better than my ISP Pro Rack G. I sold the ISP.

Good to hear! At first I thought it would be easy filling a 6 space rack but now between my Furman and GM2, I can't hardly think of anything else I need so far.
