I just recently got an Einstein and im very much pleased with it. I was also in the same dilemma as you are, choosing between the einstein and herbert. I think in the future i will get a herbert but the einstein is definately worth the money.

Apparently i have Chad Moseby's Einstein? I just got it from Zuel69. Is that what you meant Mike?

Yep, that was Chad's. He did do some crazy good sounding recordings with it.

Yeah well i miss my PRS    Yeah man this is a great amp and my next amp will be a Herbert also after finally finding out for myself that Diezels are THAT good. Oh and who is this Chad Mosbey guy? Id like to hear my Einstein in action :D

Hi nbarts! Now I have all these Diezel cabinets with no amp...I really am dying to try a Herbert. Your review was very tempting.

Weren't you set on your Einstein rig? What happened? What was it that you didn't like about it? What is it that you are looking for that you are not able to find? I'm thinking it could be your other rig components that make you buy & sell perfectly fine amps & cabinets.

Honestly Herbert is not that much different from Einstein.

Haha! Well I have gone through a ton of great gear and I did and do love the Einstein. No sir, I have some very nice guitars and effects and I drag the stuff out and play very often. Curiousity gets overwhelming and I want to see whats out there before the time comes when I can't do it anymore.

Soooo, out of love for the Einstein I just got a Herbert.

I really just want to end up with a few great guitars, a few great amps and cabs at various places I go to jam. :D

Plus if you didn't buy that bog 2x12 from me, it would have just sat here tempting me to somehow aquire the xtc classic.

Nice pickup with the Herbert Mike. Do you like it more than the Einstein?

Hey man thanks! I should find out by next weekend. I do know there are some extra options I will use...as far as the basic tone your amp will be hard to beat. One of my goals for 2009 was the Herbert, I just didn't expect the deal I got to bowl me over the 2nd day of the new year... :D

Hey yall. I'm Chad. Thanks for all the compliments and props! I'd be more than happy to answer any questions about the clips, settings, etc. Keep in mind that studio magic can be decieving, I used no eq other than the front of the amp. Those recordings were pretty raw, with a lot of mic placement trial and error. I used a Diezel 4x12, and a Shure SM57. Pretty simple, basic setup. And yes, to the originator of this thread. Get an Einstein, it can do everything from squeaky clean to head splitting gain. Can it do what the Herbert does? I've never owned a Herbert, but anyone with a little time, and a good ear can get it close I'm sure. Keep in mind, two different amps, two different characteristics, but you can get it definitely similar.

I don't get on Rig Talk too much anymore, so if you have any questions, etc. Please email me at: chadm@ethaninc.com

There is a clip of my (yours now) Einstein on Diezel's site I believe. it is titled "These Lips" by Chad Mosbey/Point Of Reason.
