Don't get me wrong, my Herbie is my ultimate dream amp.

However, I wish that Ch1, Ch2 & Ch3 each had independent Presence/Deep functions so all three channels could be autonomously programmed on the fly. :)

I wish I could afford another one so I could be in Herbert stereo heaven!!!!!!!

Well, this is gonna be weird coming from me, but here is mine:

Variable frequency for the midcut
Separate channels for 2- & 2+
Parallel loop mix knob in front
Amperage readings available per tube
Tube fault lights in front of the amp
Fuse holders made of something other than plastic
Slightly less compression on the lead channel
Amp skeleton made of something liter, why are these things so heavy?

Yea, I'm fancy

So you can easily throw them on the truck after the show without breaking something... :scared:

1 with three loops it should be easy to plug in an EQ, no?
2 I agree
3 I agree - you can also order a VH4, which has this feature :D
4 Seriously I have no interest to write essays about tube datasheets and explain 3rd order differential equations . . .
5 No, you need to run additional wires to the sensible frontplate - this would definitely increase noise
6 Thats not possible. You may want to talk Peter into using Bakelite holders and 32mm fuses though (US size)
7 I am not sure if thats possible with these amounts of gain. I would like to hear Peter's opinion about it
8 I totally agree :D Believe it or not, earlier this week I've aksed the Maestro - he refused . . .

Obviously I don't expect these things happening for the Herbert all of a sudden, but I'd like to see them on future Diezel amps.

One feature that I would really like incorporated in modern amps is that on plexi amps, when you can blend the 2 hi gain & body gain channels together. I don't suggest having 2 inputs, but instead 2 gains & 2 volumes per channel. How insane would that be?!

Or maybe just possibility routing 2 channels together to the power amp to avoid too much cost increase?!!! :) Or both!!! Why do we only have to use 1 channel at a time?

...looks like no vacation til 2025 for Peter!!

Peter shoulda thought about that before diving into this hopeless business.

1 I still have a question that nobody answered, can I run serial & parallel loops at the same time?
2 :)
3 Don't even get me started with my VH4 wish list
4 I wish you would. The problem is if you put a faulty tube in one of these or very badly matched, how in the hell you would know?
5 Really, running wires for a bulb will increase noise?
6 That would work too :)
7 I wouldn't mind slightly less gain either, I don't ever remember going past 12:00 on it
8

In that case I hope you have a good deal of equity in your home to refi - because you'll need it! :(

The independent Presence/Deep functions are still my killer wish...Sir Peter...! :D

Haha, I think what I have listed is more doable than independent presence/deep per channel, man. I guess that would mean having 3 power amps & the only possible way I can think of that coming true is buying 2 more Herberts.

In that case, I suppose we're gonna need a bigger truck!

My only thing would be more footswitch options. Can't afford a Columbus right now so I guess I'm stuck changing channels from the front panel for now.

Excuse me?

I guess it's possible with 1 power amp too though, presence/deep/volume times 3 & you could assign each to whatever channel you want. More tech savvy folks would be able to tell.

Works great with Herbert; the only drawback for me is that it doesn't support the phantom power feather from Herbert. You can find them new for $125-150 new.

My point was more NON midi footswitch options. If I'm going to buy a Midi controller, I'm going Columbus instead of an off brand setup.

I wish the Herbert came with a simple 4 or 5 button footswitch, like nearly every other 3 channel amp on the market.
