The only thing I would like to see is the -/+ option to be midi switchable.
I have seen the thread on how to do the mod, but the noise issue does not seem to have been resolved.

Is there any hope this issue will be addressed in the future?

Other than that the Herbert is still my favorite amp of all time. :D

..for me the herbert is just perfect. in the case of the -+gain in channel 2...i like to blend with a good overdrive unit( klon pr rodenberg), i put in - position and...when you press the klon, you have the + with more posibilities. if you want this thing via midi...you can resolve with any loop stuff in the market.

my only thing....add a gain in the clean channel. just to make it perfect. but again with my rodenberg i resolve this..

less weight...ask my roadies   ...

a limited edition in red tolex, with red leds...woul be cool as hell....it coul be name: HELLBERT

1. You can easily mod a fcb1010 to phantom power. Only two wires...done!
2. You can easily mod the +/- to be switchable. And there are no hum problems. Use a shielded cable.
I switched the +/- with the fcb1010 but finally I took the H&K Tubefactor out of my rack. The TF was switched by the
GMajor. Now it switches the +/-. It´s a complete amp! I adore it!
3. Does anybody use the parallel loop?

I got another tip for you! Now I use a Palmer "The Junction" di box for inear monitoring. What a great Sound! WOW! A hundred times better for Inear than a mic!!!

Well, this is a question asked many times, and well, I personally think that no mod will be done to the herbert ever :( ... but... well, if you ask me, the mod I'd do is short and easy:

1. +/- midi switchable... and off course, a independent GAIN knob for - mode.. (one gain for each mode, + and -), and keep the bass/mid/treeble the same for both modes... (Off course, the PERFECT would be a completly independent channel for - mode, but that would make a pure 4 channel amp.. which, if you ask me, would be absolutly PERFECT and WHAT I'd NEED SO BADLY... Ok, I know there is a VH4, but it's not the same... I personally prefer the Herbert, at least for me and my style. And well, the minus mode midi switcable woul dbe simply awesome (but again, it would have to has a own GAIN knob, if not, it wouldn't be that great.

Apart of that, the herbert is simply PERFECT... !!! How I wish I could have that !!! :(

Peter, is there any possibility in this world to "improve" this in a future ??? or there will be no way ???

Again, HERBERT IS THE BOMB !!! (but it really need to offer the possibility to use all its features in deep... Dont tell me it's not a f@*! that we are not able to use the +/- ??? Shit, I must decide... will I use + or - ... because I cant use both on stage !!! aghrrrrrrrrrrrrr and that really KILLS ME !!! :gethim: :gethim: :gethim: :gethim: :gethim:

Few reasons...

1st, wont be midi... and I'd need to slap dance over my pedalboard, (I hate that)...
2nd, the mod add noise.. (and I cant stand that)...
3rd I wont have a gain for that... (I use the ch2+ with gain about 2 oclock, and the minus mode I'd use it with the gain about 10-11 oclock.. to get a tiny dirtier clean, amazing sound !!! )
Last... I dont want to make any non official mod in my herbert :(... so I'm stucked with the original then, and I'll have to use the Axe-Fx amps simulators to produce what I need... but I'd personally would like to use all the Herbert sounds instead of any other stuff... :(

I'd really kill for that amp... :gethim: :gethim:

Slap dance? Noise?

Let me explain...if you use a GMajor and a FCB1010 you have 4 relais to switch hte +/-. But you´ll need only one.
And belive me...there is no noise! I don´t hear any noise!

Well, that is what I was told by duesentrieb long time ago...

In any case, as I dont use the Gmajor or the FCB1010, I dont have those options (I guess)... I use an Axe-fx and a Gaspedal (which I'm about to receive).

In any case, and back to the origianl topic, that would be my only request fot this AMAZING amp...

That's not a mod, and I have no intention of using the G-Major or the fcb.

duesentrieb has posted an actual mod that makes the -/+ midi switchable without having to have external relays, but there is apparently added hum after the mod is done. I am hoping for a proper resolution to this issue so every feature of the amp can be switched with any midi pedal.

Ok, here is my wish: All potis should be motorpotis that save their settings with midi :D

I think there are so many good tones on each channel with totally different eq, that it is not possible to use them all live in one song. Also the quality is no way comparable to the herbert, I think H&K made a huge step into the right direction with their Coreblade amp.

Does anybody know if Herbert is deemed Green or Eco friendly?

What about global warming, does Herbert contribute to the melting of the arctic ice caps and climate change and the Green House effect?

Just asking…

I never saw that?!

Benkenove, why don't you just use 2- and 3 (instead of 2+)?? It should work bette unless you need 3 overdriven tones?

Again the mid-cut could be useful here...

As you guys know, I love the Herbert. My only wish would be a more vintage sounding channel 2. Like a JCM 800 or something.

Well, I've thought that... but I use the 2+ for rhythms basically and 3 for leads... both dialed slightly differently, which I found gives the touch.. I could use the 2- for that, but I'd be sacrifying too much of the herbert (all channel 2+ which I personally love to death) just to get the 2- tones, (which I use, but way less than 2+, just in a few songs and some short parts)

It's a hard desicion, but I made it, and 2+ won the battle :(. (If I just had an independent gain for 2- and were midi, then I could say heaven exists !!! )

I'll try to get a similar sound of the 2- out of the Axe-fx... (or maybe putting a drive effect in front of the channel 1.. ;) I must try a few options :D, but I love channel 2+ too much to let it go :D

Thanks for the suggestion !!!

If i were to have a 'dream herbert' it would contain these mods.

1- gain control for the clean channel.
2 - reverb - controls for each channel.
3 - sweepable mid cut/boost :D.
4 - footswitchable -/+ for ch2.

I think that's it... for now

Hmm, I suppose the idea of 6 powertubes is also a tiny turn off for me personally (wouldn't stop me from getting one however). Bah screw it, 6 power tubes it is - immense headroom ahoy.
