Man I couldn't disagree more about the Mark IV. Its a very nice amp, but next to my ++ it falls short. Sorry. It's that last 5-10%. When you hear it, you just smile and think, "Ahh, there it is!"
I agree and also don’t think we need to pigeonhole these amps into automatically being the Metallica sound. They’re just great amps that can be used for many different styles of metal and rock. They only sound like Metallica if you play riffs in a similar ballpark through them

Got the autographed version. So on his first 84 explorer says it came with 500T and 496R pickups originally. Very odd since the 500T was released in 1989. It had dirty fingers in it originally for Christ's sake. Did Jaymz even proof read his own book?

Cool book though.
Yeah, Dirty Fingers in Explorer is the early Het sound. That's why I put a ToneNerd Psykes in my Explorer. Does it Metallica? Good question. I will find out when I get off work tonight. :)

Decided I wanted this book. Great prices on Alibris or Thriftbook.

Especially since it happened 30 years ago and nearly 40 years after the ‘last’ great Metallica album before they ”sold out”.
My whole take on this is that....It's not your band, they can & will do whatever they want to make/keep themselves happy. There are bands that i love that have changed over the years....in some cases for the better & some for the worse but i've never been super pissed or called a band "sellouts" cause they changed.

I’m suspicious of any human who does not seek to change throughout their lifetime, I’d be lying if I said that didn’t carry over to bands as well, regardless of which direction they change in.

i have a friend named Chris all he does all day is listen to music but won't listen to Metallica after cliff died cause "That's when they sold out" it baffles me.

I love my Tonenerd Whiskey but really curious about the Psykes and think it would sound good in one of my Les Pauls.

Hmm, I wonder if there's a chapter on there on why they cut their hair, sold out, and started writing garbage songs
man, we almost got past the 1st page without a post like this.
metallica threads ALWAYS bring out the worst in people. :ROFLMAO:

The Whiskey is awesome. Sounds good in every guitar I've heard it in. The Psykes has more push, sounds great in an LP for that 80s metal thing.

My granddad gave me this for Christmas. Best present this year 😅 Great book and pictures

The book is great, fave Christmas present this year (from my pooch!)
