hmmm ...

I never remember seeing him with a H-S-S config on any Explorer ...

look at all the ADA's cool shit

Gotta love the "kill Bon Jovi" sticker when they both had Bob Rock!!

Didn't they use the C+ preamp into a Marshall power section?

He used the single coil Explorer on nothing else matters for a brief period in/around 1993. I think there are a few vids on youtube where you can see him using it too.

Yeah, I was waiting for about 3 months to get these in and had just about thought that they got lost, haha. I'm hoping to get some of the older photos in soon too, from MOP and AJFA tours.

fucken a, these flicks are amazing bro. many, many thanks.

hard to believe kirk can sound like shit with all of that gear.imo.

I don't think I can really say anything that hasn't been said, but you fricken rule dude!

PS----those settings weren't really what I expected.

what's going on with the different MP-1's? Notice that one has an input jack in the front and one doesn't. I have a pic of Paul Gilbert's rig from the late 80's, and he had both versions as well.

Man those are insane and thus further proves that Kirk Hammet is the luckiest guitar player on the face of the earth......he does not deserve all of that Eventide and Bradshaw equipment

When looking at all the cool gear, i couldn't help but getting all like "WTF!!" with the Kunta Kinte sticker on one of the racks.

Oh, well, I'm off-the-wall and obtuse too, so I'm just hoping it's that.

One thing to keep in mind, they (ESPECIALLY James) combined multiple amps/preamps for one or more tones. So James' rhythm tone doesn't soley come from one amp (or even one of the same amp for that matter) and they also have a good great of very specific parametric EQing going on to reshape things.

The MP1 thing, the other units are actually the MQ1, which is a programmable parametric EQ. They used those along with Aphex EQs :)

I read once where those guys had over 20 amps going at it to get "their tone"

No wonder Lars was so pissed about napster......it freaking cost $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ just to record the guitars.

and yeah, wtf is up with that pic of a slave?!?!?!?!?!?!!??

well ..... Hetfield is a Hillbilly .... maybe he's got racial issues along with sitting down while he takes a leak ... I think that's where he wrote Nothing Else Matters
