hard to believe kirk can sound like shit with all of that gear.imo.

All that geat isn't going to bend the strings in pitch for him, or help with his girly vibrato.

And it's interesting that they keep the treble and lead drives low, but since they cranked those amps it's understandable. With the treble at 10 it's way too much high end at louder volumes IMHO.

I have. I thought it sounded like total dogshit, to be honest. It's also not that loud as the Lead Master tames the volume quite a bit.

ADA used to make some really good gear.

That factory fire was a shame... they had some great products and ideas. I wish they could have had a bit more time, I think things would have been even greater.

Keep in mind those heads were slaved into power amps, so the settings are will be coloured by the additional power stage. And LOTS of EQing. And he used combinations of V30s, EVs, Mesa Black shadows. Thats why no one can really nail that tone; there was just so much stuff going on....

Yeah, I'm not surprised. They blend a lot of stuff together as well. I've never liked Metallica's tone anyway, so it's not a big deal.
