Very interesting! That said..I figured that maybe Curts friend could maybe confirm that its a Jose mod by the guts shot? I guess there is no way to know if Jose did the work but he might be able to tell if its a jose mod or not based on what you can see in the pictures. The 1 feedback bothers me to lol!!

I don't think Carl would know really - he told me that when he worked for Jose, he was mostly changing filter caps and had done a couple of Zener diode masters. He wasn't into the full gain modding... It would be cool if Mark Cameron could take a look at the pictures and say what he thinks since he's seen several examples... of course, it appears he has his hands full with his own venture at this point... I'll PM him though...

Nah lol! I would bid on a Cameron Aldrich model before the Jose's. They are more in line with what i dig!

YUP! Besides, who the hell wants to do the necessary work!?? I just wanna ROK!!

Retubing and contact cleaner seems a small price to pay if the amp is what is being advertised and is one of the good ones, no? ;)

Steve

Ah what the hell... I'll just bid and figure it out later if I win... :D

Steve

Why would that guy not put Jose's name in the auction title? Doesn't that seem a bit odd/stupid?

Most of the Jose modded Marshalls I have seen thru the years had his "Arrco Electronics" silver/black sticker on the back metal panel of the amp.

But it could sit on your kitchen table for a year or so and look very cool. :D
I highly recommend this. This will turn the amp into a Kitchen Marshall which will raise the value!

Maybe he doesn't realize the cult status of these amps. Maybe he really doesn't know Jose modded it (or knows he didn't) and doesn't want people calling him out on it... Who knows...

Just keep your grubby mitts off my new amp... you'll just sell it anyway...

Keith!

Im with you on that! That said, it looks as if there was a sticker peeled off of the back of the amp right where the Marshall info is.

All the best bro!

Steve,

I put a thread about the amp on the metro site asking Nitro if this was in fact a jose mod. I just hope that someone doesnt out bid you now. Like and idiot,I didnt think about that before I posted the thread.

You could ask him not to put the sticker on and he would comply... This could also be an early one. It could also be complete bullshit... who knows...
