Here's the Randall XTC modified by Jeff Hilligan, to get the AiC Jerry tone!

I used my Suhr Pro Modern M1, with the XTC in the M4, powered by the Randall RT2/50 w/ 6550s run into my Grendel Dead Room iso cab w/ a G12K85 and mic'ed by 2 SM57s. I am using a BB preamp to boost the XTC just a bit. The Gain on the BB is at 9 oclock, the treble at 10 oclock, the bass at 2 oclock, and the volume at 11 oclock.

The drums are just a groove w/ EZDrummer I threw in there for fun. Here are 2 MP3s...one w/ just the rhythm guitars, and one w/ a lead and drums over the rhythm.

Sounds good!
Man, I was waiting to hear Lane Staley jump in any second. A lot of AIC flavor in that clip.

Yeah...it was inspired by the new AiC chains song...Looking in View. Thanks a lot!! :)

Loving the G12K85... good thing I have one of those.

That XTC tracks incredibly well... nice.

Me too man. I love it in my iso cab for sure!!! :)

Tracks fucking well....that's w/ 2 SM57s on it. One near the center of the dust cap ... perpindicular w/ it...and one at a 45 degree angle off where the dust cap / cone meet..

Feels so nice to have my studio back up and running! :)

Eric, you are the clipmaster.

Thanks man. This clip cemented my love for the K100 and K85. I finally got the tone coming out of my cab in "tape."

Hrm...4x12 w/ K100s....sounds like a fun idea to me! :)

Sounds great Eric. I guess I need to venture back into that module and do a dual proto of it!

Man, the more and more I listen to these clips, the more and more I've got to have this module. Please Jeff, do a dual Eggie version of this, PLEASE! Even if you don't put it in production, I'll pay for a custom one off. Jerry Cantrell is such a huge influence on my playing and I love Bogners to death, this is totally up my alley!!!

I can do a Randall single and put a black faceplate and our creme knobs on it. They are going for cheap and the mod is only $100 for the work and the above mentioned items.

I'll do the write up, if you send me one for free.

I got a good idea for a name too... Instead of playing on the XTC theme, what about "AIC" (Alice in Chains) instead.

EG-AIC

You want dirt? You got it. Lets face it, the 90's Grunge era was great for coffee, but not for guitar tones. Most flannel-clad guitarists were miserably content with a Big-Muff and a Fender Mustang. But one brave soul from Seattle decided to go on a rampage and keep it real... really HEAVY, and started using custom shop German-boutique gear WAY before boutique was even considered cool. If your memories of 90's guitar tones leaves you drowning in sea of sorrow, cheer up – the EG-AIC will put a smile on your once-goateed face.

Channel A will go in a box, down in a hole, or sail down that damn river. Your choice. Pick one.

Channel B delivers even more of that pure, unadulterated grind. With more saturation, gain, and midrange, it'll be sure to rattle them bones.

Ding ding. We have a winner. SOLD!

Your welcome. :D

I think there's about a million AIC fans on Rig Talk alone...
