-20°F this morning, where I live.

Nope.

Been like this for a couple days....

Got down to -25°F last night.

Chickens have not been outside in 2 days, and they are not happy. But I have 3 that are molting at the absolute worst time of the year.

Supplemental heat, and pepper flakes it is.

Stay warm y'all!🤘

Here in middle TN, we only got down to about 1 or so. Windchill may have been lower, especially here since the wind is blowing a lot.

It's 31 degrees here right now. I didn't sign up for this.

It snowed last night, roads are icy. Everything canceled. Everyone called into work. Kinda funny cause back up north this would be a mild winter's day. Here the whole world stops. Hopefully the grid holds up. I been trying to get some insulating done inside.

What's funny to me is listening to people run their chainsaws, cutting green firewood, when the front has already hit. Little late bro. That and "i g0tTa tRukK d00d"spinning his wheels trying to get traction. No clue how to drive on snow down here. Even I lost my touch after 20 years in da souf. zzzzzzz ZZZZZZZ zzzzzz ZZZZZ zzzzZZZZZZZZZ LOL

That stuff always cracked me up.

Until I saw my first rainstorm in San Diego, now that isn't funny. Ok, it kind of was.
San Diego in the first rain....Norfolk with 1 inch of snow ....me laughing and wondering why I drive so well in all instances. 😭

The only situations that make me nervous, are hauling trailers on icey mountain roads, going downhill.

😱

you guys talking wind or straight temps

was 12 here this morning straight temp

coldest i ever been was Lake Placid. 15 below straight temp

I count even open the car door and when i finally didn't the ignition didn't want to turn.
surprisingly after it warmed to 0 later on the car fired right up

It was -10 this morning, felt like -25...

This is tonight

19 is tonight's predicted overnight. The coldest I've ever seen here was 9 degrees one morning in the '21 storm. The east side of my roof isn't fully insulated and when the wind is right it blows straight in since I have a vaulted ceiling and not an attic. Yesterday morning was about 25 degrees with a direct east wind which made for a long morning....

It's 1 here, I am heading to go ice fishing for 1-2 days here in a bit. Although it is supposed to warm up overnight.
I used to ice fish when I was younger.... sometimes without a shanty ...but now there isn't enough whiskey around to make me do that anymore...and don't get me started about what may be in the fish ...at least around where I live.

🤣

Haha..."Honey, why is the fireplace so smokey?"

Supposed to hover around zero or below for about 3 days here, warming up on Thursday...in time to get more damn firewood inside, it's almost been a full-time job this winter.

I can eek through a TX winter on one cord of wood. Once I get fully insulated I shouldn't need quite as much. I don't light the woodstove until the overnight low is below about 47 degrees. Try splitting live oak by hand sometime though. Some of the larger rounds can't be done without hydraulics. Even my neighbor's hydraulic splitter struggles in some of the more knotted up pieces.

White Oak sucks to split, I have a cord and a half left...but that damn Post Oak is like trying to split iron.
