For high gain it's tough to be the SLO. Personally I'm a big fan of the Super Champ, not exactly in the same league as the ones mentioned already, but killer cleans, great classic crunch, 18w of Rivera designed goodness.

The super champ is a great amp for sure

I'm quite partial to my XTC classic

but for cleans, nothing beats a real blackface fender.
deluxe reverb, super reverb, twin, pro reverb, etc.
no clones, no reissues, no boutique take offs, nothing compares to a real well maintained blackface.

There are alot of really great amps out there that I love, but the mark IV pwns everything else.
