How cool are birds?!

They have SHEadstocks
I think they look more like hands with amputated fingers

Super weird they can hang from hooks though

I like the birds. I found it interesting though that if you look close at the early PRS guitars, the routing is very sloppy; lots of filler around the birds. Now the routing is nice and tight.

Man. I flirted a long time with headless. At the end of the day, I think I moved past it. I think the weight might mess with me. I like to have some heft to the bastard.
They are unnervingly light lol. My SG feels hefty after even a 7 string headless

I've had a few PRS over the years, only one I kept on to is the Santana (modified with some Peter Frampton pickups). Thing is amazing.

Last one I got rid of was the Silver Sky, have to say I was underwhelmed.

I always wanted to do yin yang inlays as I always have had a yin yang symbol somewhere on stage with me. (I was given one from a friend when I was young and we had one of those deep convos you have late at night in HS while flying high.) Even that simple inlay would be stupid expensive.

Everything else usually is too much for me. I have sharks on my Jacksons, I suppose. Actually, I love the black sharks on maple fretboard look, but never bought one.
It’s not about the money even, as I could get anything I want done during my custom order and it was already included in the price, I just didn’t come up with something that would organically fit it. So no markers at all in the end lol

Shark fins are alright too, black on maple even better.

Personally I think the birds look nice but the carved tops are sorta gay
They need to bring these back. I love the simplicity of that flat top and no flash and flare.

I agree.

That pic reminds me of when I had first joined TGP and the whole boutique thing was new to me. There was an ad for a PRS with “moon inlays” and the way the lighting was, they kinda just looked like dot inlays. I had never seen “moon inlays” in person so I replied to the ad “those are moon inlays?” And the guy got super butthurt about it lol. He was like “yea dude, those are moons. Stop trying to screw up my ad!”

So maybe deep down that’s why I never cared for PRS lol

Paul was an advocate of the Birder Society. He would roll a fat one. Do an 8 Ball and stare at the sky for hours.
Hense the birds in flight inlays.

..just kidding
I was like whoa I wanna try this with him
