There is only one brand i would go with if i would sell my Herbert(but i won´t)...and that´s Boogie.
I would pick up a roadster or a roadking. Evetually Splawn but here in germany you cant find one to test.

Marshall? I love them, but a good sounding JCM800 is hard to find. And you need a Tubescreamer or s.th. else. JVM? Nice amp but way too noisy. 12 sounds and 8 sound equal.

5150 and the other one´s? Only the Fender 5153! A guy i now ownes one. A really nice 3 channel amp with no clean sound(?). He says: The 5153 is the poor man´s Herbert.

And Herbert to juicy? Ch 2 -? It is not!

But one thing is true. It´s sounds alone much better than in a bandsituation. But it seems i found the cure for this problem. I reduced the mids! I had the mids around 1-2 o´clock. Now i have them between 10-11. Thats is nice. And the amount of mids is still huge! I simply think these are kinda other mids as f.e. Marshall etc. Bass becomes tighter and you think you cranked up the treble.
With reduced mids it very close to the Boogie sound. And the boogie sound is one of the best bandsounds you can get. This tone range is awesome.

And you need a Dillingen Diezel cab. No other cab suits this amp like these cabs.
