I'm Wondering if the Einstein can do the heavy Godsmack type of tones or would a VH-4 be a better amp for that thick riffing?, Thanks
Do you know how Godsmack gets those tones? I didn't think so or you wouldn't be asking. Any tone you've ever heard or will ever hear out of an amp and guitar can be duplicated with ANY tube amp. You give me a Bassman amp and I'll give you whichever tone you want. All it takes is first KNOWING what you want and then using the pedals, effects that will give you that and lastly but MOST importantly and here's the one NO ONE wants to hear..you also need to know how to play to get the tones you want. It's a truth that no one wants to face or hear but tone is possibly 90% on the players hands/fingers.
There's no such thing as "this amp will give you this or that tone" because they all will and because of the fact that hardly if any of the tones you've heard or like/d have been accomplish with just guitar into amp. Take the most tiresome and annoying, replayed question in rock tone or amps.."how can I get the brown sound" well shouldn't that be answered by only ONE person? The man that made it famous?
The fatc is that 99 times out of 100 anyone asking these type of questions have well under 10-15 yrs of playing experience and that's why they're asking it. Relax, practice, be patient, practice and all the tones you ever imagined will be gotten if you wish with tons of practice and experience. I always tell my students get a
Marshall DSL and you have all you'll ever need just add EQ and various stomp boxes.
Now that the above is out of the way which is what no one wants to hear but that's the thing with honesty and truth isn't it? As far as the Einstein goes, to me it's one of the best amps I've played and I own and have owned many. If you can play you'll get whatever you need out of it but again I can get any tone I want out of a Bassman or a
Fender Blues Deville. The Einstein gives me the tone I want straight into the amp with no effects and for me it was affordable. It is a waste of money and inexperience to buy anything over $1000-1500 if you have those questions in mind (how do I get such and such tone?) because you have a LONG, LONG road ahead of you and headed for alot of disappointment if you think x amp will give you x band's tone. If you're not getting X band's tone NOW then guess what? Stop reading forums and go practice, the tones, techniques and everything else will then come trust me.
