How to make HSS guitar see 500k bridge and 250k singles??

I have a stock American standard HSS Strat. It has all 250k pots and the stock diamondback humbucker and two Tex Mex singles

I bought a Suhr SSH+ and a couple Dimarzio singles (Area67 middle/Injector neck)

I also bought a 500k pot for the volume control to replace the stock 250k

I'm wanting the absolute EASIEST way to get my two singles to see 250k...USING THE STOCK WIRING & 5 WAY SWITCH ON THE PICKGUARD. Is this possible in anyway? I was hoping to add a resistor or two somewhere or somehow. I just don't know where or what kind to get...if it's even possible :aww:

Please help! At this point I'm ready just to throw in the 500k and call it a day and hope the singles sound ok with a 500k pot
 
Do you use the tone pot at all for your bridge pickup? If not you could wire the humbucker through a 500k vol pot only (not going through the tone pot). Then you can use 250k pots for both vol and tone for the single coils.
 
With those Area's your fine with a 500k volume pot. They need a little topend to sound right. Just wire it up with the tone pot on the middle/neck and tone pot on bridge pickup. Ran my strat that way all the time..
 
Suhr uses a resister on my hss amd hsh guitars to make each pickup see the right values. see if you can find a suhr schematic on line, may help

This worked! The Area and Injector sound pretty good with 500k pot. I just had to mess with the height adjustment till I found the sweet spot

One thing that gave me fits was the the Suhr bridge pup I used was out of phase in position 2. I had to reverse the ground and hot lead and works great now

Great! Yeah the Area's never sounded right with 250k pots, 500k is the way to go. ROCK ON! :rock:
 
I never liked the Areas with 500k, way too bright. I treat them as regular singles.
