The company I used to work for sent me a Peavey 6505 Piranha to do a demo video. I own the full blown 6505, and I have to say, this thing is a lot of fun for $179. I did a few clips with a Les Paul loaded with a 57 Classic+ paired with Celestion Greenbacks, and with an EMG 81 loaded guitar into some Celestion Vintage 30's. No overdrive/boost. Just what the little guy sounds like plugged straight in.

Thanks! Honestly, I had REALLY low expectations. I mean, the aftermarket pickups in my guitars cost more than this amp does...but I plugged it in and was grinning from ear to ear. It's an awesome home practice/recording amp....and it just made my heart happy that kids with a limited budget could get something that sounds a lot like the amp that they're drooling over.

Sick. You should do a comparison between this, and the AMT P1 (run it at 12v, straight into a power amp + cab, or impulse)

I love my full size amps and have no reason to not play them, but I have to say you did a great job of making that little unit sound really cool

That little thrash riff in the intro was nice! Almost sounded a little Kreatorish.

Kreator

I started a Kreator thread a while back when I fond out they released the Gods of Violence video. Love me some Kreator one of my favorite bands by far.

Pretty cool for what it is, thanks for the video. I do like the extreme portability factor, seems like it would be handy to have as a backup (in a mic'ed environment, of course).

Thanks guys! These videos have been a lot of fun to make. There's definitely a learning curve with all of the video editing, but I'm slowly getting things somewhat figured out.

If you feel like subscribing to yet another YouTube demo channel (like there aren't already enough of those) I usually have 1 or 2 videos up a month. I'll have a higher gain look at the Carl Martin Plexitone pedal up this Monday, and a Quilter 101 mini head up the Monday after that.
