I feel the Mesa Mark IV may be the best amp ever made.

This amp seems to be able to do it all. I would take it over any of my Marshalls.

Holy shit is it. I am sitting at the studio watching the clock waiting to go home.

Well, the way I see it, its all so obviously subjective and not every amp does it for everyone but I will say this, I truly think that the MkIV is definitely one of the best amps ever made , of that there can be no doubt

I STILL have not played my Mark IV alone. I sold my cab just yesterday so now I need to get pickups and a new cab before I can play it.

I would take my MarkIV ANYDAY over the Marshalls i have owned which include a JCM800, JMP, 50 watt short head plexi from 1969, and a JVM. All you need for R2 is a cheap $30 Bad Monkey for crunch tones.

And step on a Boss EQ pedal on the lead and boost the 800hz slider and bend up a note. HAHAHA, i swear i can sustain notes at whisper volumes for 10 minutes, and i mean 10 whole minutes. Try that with your Marshall without waking up the entire neighborhood.

It definitely has stood the test of time and hasn't had a string of revisions throughout the years like some other amp lines :)

I actually grew to like R2 as well and have been using that channel for mid gain tones lately

The Mark IV has earned it's spot in history for sure

Hey Tom you need to go old school man :)

Rubbing it in huh :gethim:

I'd love to try an old school cab if I ever get the chance! The Mark IV does sound killer through my modded Roadking 4x12 through so I can afford to be patient

Yes, of all the amps I've played I haven't found an amp that can do more. I've seen amps that can do one thing better, but for someone who wants it all the MArk IV can't be beat IMO.

Exactly. I will own one again someday.

Here follows a list of heavy rock players who got equal to or better tones from Mesa's than EVH, Lynch, DiMartini, Le Tekro, Schenker, Hoffman, Takasaki, Wylde, Joe Holmes, John Norum, Gary Moore, Aldrich, Malmsteen, Bettencourt etc etc etc did with Marshalls:

John Sykes and........

Well...... just John Sykes. And I believe this is the same John Sykes who is now using Marshalls again.

Listen you Mesa Boogie brain-washed Kool Aid drinker :D , there is no such thing as a "short head" plexi. It is called a small box plexi because it is in a small box. See? Marshall makes sense. What is this Boogie "short head" nonsense. Is the head shorter? No, it's narrower. Wacky Northern California tie-dye wearing, Patchouli juice stinking, sandal wearing, non-showering, incense burning, hemp backpack wearing, Jerry Garcia loving, hitch hiking, commune living amp companies are not metal.

I don't know why you east coast guys are so into Carlos Santana.
