So, my Boss CE-2 has seen better days. The LED barely came on, and the signal was pretty weak. I didn't really compare the CE MOD to the actual CE-2. I did, however, shoot it out with the Earthquaker Devices Sea Machine, which is what I use on my board, and wad on my bassist's board. The low end passed through the CE MOD was massive. It almost made it seem louder than the Sea Machine because of all the bass. With the switches down, this is my new favorite bass chorus by far.
As for the chorus itself, it was luscious and crisp. The mix knob is a great feature because it lets you dial in a deep, rich chorus and blend it back to subtlety. With the rate and depth jacked and set wet, it definitely got onto the "Seasick" territory of the EQD. Really, the only thing the Sea Machine did that the CE MOD didn't is the "Dimension" knob, which is an echo that goes from reverb to slapback craziness. I won't miss that.
This thing is kicking my Sea Machine off my bass board next time I mess with that. It rules. Thanks, Wayne!
