I just got a TGP Spanking...and now a SSO ban!

Check out the Granger thread over there. Once again, as if on cue, Fat Ass Mike rolls into the thread cheerleading Germino, Metro, etc.
Guy was looking for VH gain levels, something that no Germino or Metro has, IMO, but Sloth Mike doesn't read that part. He doesn't post his opinion and move on either. He posts multiple times as if repeating the same BS will convince someone to chose his prefered brands. Then he capps it with, "I roll my own".....meaning he builds his own amps. How he solders with those sausages I don't know.

I just read through yesterday's Granger thread on TGP, and it's nothing like you described. Mike answered the question and gave his recommendations. He also mentioned that he would like to try a Granger amp. That's hardly dissing a product.

I prefer higher gain amps myself, and don't own Germinos or even old Marshalls. But I have played a cranked Germino, and it will totally get VH1 gain levels.

Hate? How dramatic. I read the thread differently. Thanks for breaking it down and explaining it to me in kindergarden terms. I guess I didn't understand it. Yeah, he's just a real helpful guy, ain't he? Just like the other Plexi build thread he yanked all his posts off after making an ass of himself.

I think Atlanta Discount Music may have an amp of yours in there on occasion. I will have to try it out.

You can take my word for it Joe ... Al makes very nice amps. I have played on a few. Very worth checking out.

I post on TGP ... But I usually only communicate with the same group of people often & I communicate with all of them in other places. sfryette, David Torn, Stu Blue and few other people.... It is too dry over there most of the time for me.

It is the only place I have ever got a warning & that was for referencing Acts from the New Testament / The man I was named after ..... See my signature here it is the same one I got the warning about minus one word. Funny thing is it was my signature there almost two years before I got the warning.....

The Small Company Luthiers is the only subforum I go to over there. There's a few guys in there that I talk with. I seriously doubt anything related to an amp on The Goober Page would I find interesting, helpful or enlightening.

For me it is usually vintage English - Marshall, Hiwatt, Orange, etc or Fryette amps.... with people I have known for years.

To be honest Steve I am kind of surprised you never played on a Deliverance ?

Isn't the deliverance kinda cheap now? Like in the 800-1000 price point? I seem to recall a few up used lately.

I also have not played a proper VHT amp. They just have not gotten a stronghold in the southeast.

Fryette amps are difficult to find in a lot of places. I payed $900 for my Deliverance 120 a few years ago in new condition. The price depends on the model a lot. I do not follow the prices these days ... But that sounds about right.

.... of the about 20 amps I have here - last several years Fryette is the only amp capable of highgain I use much....

I haven't had any issues on TGP, but a couple of mods on SSO must not like me very much. I'm usually entirely respectful where ever I go, with that website being no exception. Every now and then I use a bit of sarcasm, but it should never hurt anybody's feelings, especially not when you consider some of the awful shit people say on these forums sometimes.

Anyway, a couple of months back, I was offering this dude trades for his Mayones. He said he was interested in my offer and that he wanted to see pictures, so I sent him pictures and didnt hear from him for a week. So then I sent him a better offer, and again he asked for pictures. Pictures sent, no response. A week later this dude posts an NGD thread and I posted in his thread saying "hey man, I sent you a couple PM's - check them out", and he got smart with me saying I was hounding him. Naturally, my response was that I wasn't interested anymore and that there was obviously a misunderstanding. I kept my cool the whole time, even though every time he responded he was beyond rude. About an hour after all of that, he sent me an apology via PM. I suggested that we clean the bickering from his thread so that the mods don't ban him for it.

Wouldn't you know that I received a permanent ban for the conversation that was no longer visible, and that dude wasn't banned at all. I messaged the mod who banned me through rigtalk, asking what the reasoning was, and it was because I "have been banned several times before". That's some magical logic.


TL;DR - You get banned for handling situations like an adult on SSO.
