I've actually been realizing I could use more modules. I could actually use 7 modules. So..

A) go with another M4?

B) look for a used Mod100?

C) go with a Mod50 and deal with only 6 modules?

If I were you, I'd yank the rackmount drawer out and go with another M4 for sure :)

Considering you have a GCX, routing is a null issue.
Well, I can't get rid of any pedals so..

I think I could just Y cord into the front of both because luckily you can turn OFF channels on one M4, while turning ON channels of the other. Yes, this could cause ground problems but they'd be worth tracking down to keep from having to buy another GCX.

If space is an issue, get a Axess Electronics GRX4. I wouldn't use a Y cable though. If you don't want another switcher definitely get a Axess Electronics BS2, so you can use a transformer isolated out on it to feed the 2nd M4. But I'd do it w/ a switcher before I did a Y cable.

Ok, instead of another GCX you could put a Voodoo Lab Pedal Switcher before the GCX or in one of the loops. All controllable via midi.
Instead of a Y-cord I'd recommend a Radial Switchbone JX*2. The JX*2 has a ground lift. I've used it before and recommend it.

Anything but a Y cable man :) You definitely won't want to do that.

It's not a big deal to use a Y cable, in fact they're used quite a bit in systems with multiple preamps/amps and systems with mixers. Technically, I'm using one right now.. The aux out of my mixer, which is just a Y off the mixer inputs, drives the wet side of the my rev/dly.

Yes, I agree with you guys, when driving multiple preamps or amps it's definitely nicer to use a splitter, but not always necessary. And even then, the only thing the splitter really does is isolates one side.

I have my 2 M4s in loop 7 and loop 8 and my pedals run in the loops before that. I also have each M4 and Mod50 in the GCP pedal so I can control which mod is on/off or both for blended tones. No grounding problems at all.

So you are running with 10 modules?!?

That is completely over the top, outrageous, and unnecessary.

I LOVE it.

..I wouldnt even want to imagine loading all that in an out..
When I was young, it didn't take long to realize spending $2000+ on a guitar was retarded, let alone a couple of them. Why? Because for one, it didn't make me any better of a player. And two, paying some of that money out to a crew guy makes the gig so much easier.

I don't know- you have 10k in modules and you decide to save a few bucks at the end and go with a y cable? doesn't make sense...killer rig though!
