Since I like to play Black Metal, I was thinking of getting myself an extra guitar for it. Here are my needs :

-Thin, flat neck
-6 strings
-No tremolo, preferably a stoptail, but I could go with string-through
-Dual humbuckers, preferably passives
-Preferably a bolt-on
-Preferably 24 frets
-Preferably a superstrat

Because of the flat neck thing, I've been looking for Ibanez, Jacksons and ESPs, I'll list the models I found that seemed interesting. Tell me what you think of these and which other models come to your mind ! Especially Ibanez RGs with a fixed bridge because they are the flattest ones AFAIK. Overall semi-pro level guitars, let's say $500-1500.

I found at the site:
Jackson DK2T
Ibanez RG1451, RGA72QM, ICT700

Thanks a lot.

I don't have personal experience with one, but Solar has models that fit your description and budget.

If you go Jackson, go MIJ.

The DKMGT would be a great fit, but it has actives.

If you can find a prestige ibanez with the tight end bridge you would be in love. Mine slays. The bridge feels extremely natural. They are a little harder to find though.

An RG or LTD Horizon would be choice, or maybe a SLSMG Jackson.

Used Ibanez Prestige is almost always the best bang for the buck. Just really really well made and nice playing guitars that sell for much less than other comparable guitars.

Plus, Ihsahn played RGs and RGDs for a while. Seems pretty Black Metal to me.

Balaguer-I just grabbed one of their select level guitars and the overall quality, fit/finish, and playability is off the charts. The craftsmanship is almost on par with the Mayones I have and it's actually better than the Prestige and Premium Ibby I've owned.

Ibanez Prestige; as mentioned already.

Schecter CR-6 or Reaper.

Man you give me Balaguer GAS

OP- Mayones makes awesome guitars, a Duvell would be perfect for you, but would stretch the upper end of your range. Definitely worth the $ though.

The LTD Black Metal EC is exactly what you need.

-Thin, flat neck. YES
-6 strings. YES
-No tremolo, preferably a stoptail, but I could go with string-through. YES (only for the EC shape though)
-Dual humbuckers, preferably passives. NO
-Preferably a bolt-on. NO
-Preferably 24 frets. YES
-Preferably a superstrat. YES (if you go with the M shape)

My friend has one and I love that guitar.
Fixed bridge, one pickup (black winter I think), single volume know, black all over.
Simple, effective, powerful.
Couldn't find a single flaw in his, build quality was on par with the 1000 series LTDs. I got his action almost as low as my custom shops.
He got it for $700 new I think (w/ hard-case)

Ibanez 3521 Prestige. I love mine. TOP notch quality, comfy bridge (tight end bridge). I could not find the number earlier.

My Balaguer SemiCustom is a fantastic guitar. The fact they call it SEMI is still mind boggling to me.....I picked everything I want in a guitar.

Fit and finish is impeccable.

Will be getting another in the not too distant future

Get a Solar. A2.6 is like 599 and is a no frills metal guitar. If you want to go to the 1.x models you are looking at $999 to 1300 but will have luminlay side dots, evertune or floyd, and stainless frets. For metal in your budget Solar is tough to beat in my opinion. I have an E2.6 and an S1.6. My S1.6 rarely leaves my hands and when I try new guitars Im always kinda bummed that they dont live up to my S1.6. The neck isnt Ibanez thin but is close to an ESP/LTD

I tried the ESP black metal guitar and it was pretty damn good but not enough that I would play it over my Solar.

The Jackson DK2T is a great axe, I'd be my pick. Its a MIJ, BTW.

Definitely. I really find the feel of the tight end ibanez bridge to feel really comfortable though. It has more mass to it than the Jackson's, but either way you have helluva nice guitar at the end of the day. MIJ Jackson and ibanez prestige are sure bets, they are all nice, easy to find and easy to move id needed.

I'd be into one of the LTD BM guitars if they made a fixed bridge M model.
