I bought a hot glue gun for this very purpose but I don't want to glue it if it impossible to remove if I ever need to remove the cable in the future.

I thought just a small circular amount of either the hot glue or clear silicone over the cable and amp chassis would be more than enough to hold it in place when the chassis is flipped over to mount in the headcab. I've seen some amp builders use both.

I haven't used hot glue before so I don't know if it's a good idea for this application.

hot glue peels right off ..... like the stuff on the back of a new credit card when they stick it to the Paper it comes with ...

silicone is messier I believe ..... and stinks

Hot glue worked perfectly Mr Griff......it did exactly what I wanted and it looks nice and clean. Thanks for your insights and encouragement!

Stick-on zip-tie anchors. They come in various shapes and sizes. You peel the backing off, stick the little square wherever you want. And it has holes in it to feed zip-ties through.

I have some of those and have used them in the past......for this project I didn't like how it lifted the shielded cable off the chassis so much. I also would imagine the adhesive under those anchors will get weak over time but I did consider using them. I am much happier so far with the hot glue but I can see where those anchors would be a great choice as well.
