mraajr, sell one herbert, the one with 6L6 of course:D (How does it sounds anyway?? I love kt88s myself)

And James, I was really considering to switch from Herbie to Vh4 today.. ( I don't know if it's a good thing?)

...and just to think the first time I played one I didnt like it at all and thought they lacked gain

for rhythm i love ch 3 on vh 4- but dam herbie and einstein just got what i love for leads. that big bloom on the notes you know what i mean?

I didn't like the VH4 for years but when I went to Tone Merchants to demo cabs for the high gain amp shootout Rob fired up his VH4 and played for about 2 hours straight and that was it I fell in love, I got it finally. The strings feel like telephone wires in your hands, so thick. The best part of it is it agrees with my approach to record making, there's something about my VH4 that is so easy to track, it just sound right and blended with my Friedman Marshall and 2 channel Duel Rec, whoa! My God, that's why amp splitters were invented.

I just bought a vh 4 also about a week ago...love it w 6550's, but would like to try 34's in it too..Dont know if you can mix the two, since there"s a switch on the back for one or the  other..Im gonna save up and add a herbert, unless the Hagen comes out sometime...I saw the new vh4 owner had a badcat; ive got 2 4000.00 custom shop badcats, but they are in NO way even remotely intended to compete w/ the 4 or herbert... ..anyways welcome to the great diezel family!!!!!!

The Herbert's mid cut feature is nice for playing at low volumes during practice and such, but I don't see it being used live because it will decrease the amp's ability to cut in the mix.
I’ve been playing Herbert for over 5 years at gigs, sessions and rehearsals and I discover new goodies about Herbert every time I play him. Every feature including the mid cut is money! You haven’t even sighted the tip of the ice berg with the literally negligible time that you spent analyzing Herbert.

So many n00bs think that they can pickup this master piece work of art (Herbert) and as a result never impart enough patience, exploration and testing to really feel the appreciation that Herbert merits.

You need to realize the Herbert is not just a work of art; it is a pure expansion of your ability to create.

lol, I'm perfectly happy with the VH4 for now. :) The Herbert was sweet, though.

I sold my Bad Cat to buy the VH4. No looking back for me. The VH4 is such a better amp for me than the Hot Cat.
