Wanted to share this.

My Ibanez Rocket Roll II. Pretty mint condition. I am the original owner. Purchaced it in 1985 (11th grade)I think. Been a while. Case is also Ibanez.

I just got done cleaning it up. Took it all apart. Used Virtuoso Cleaner on body and gold parts. Virtuoso Polish on the body. Formby's wood cleaner on the fretboard and then Fret Doctor. Fret Doc is the shit man! Strung it up with D'Addy 10s... Good to go.

The cream pickup and pick up rings is kinda gettin yellow. Not sure if there is something out there to clean the oxidation. Its all original so I dont want to change anything.

Wonder what its worth... Only a couple light scratches no dents or chips. NOT FOR SALE. :D Passing this on to my Kid.

Enjoy the pics let me know what you think.

Been awhile since I've seen those pictures...such a sweet guitar!

I really wish I could find a nice Destroyer in an interesting flame finish that didn't cost a fortune.

I owned one too! Sold it to chubtone's store about 6-7 years ago. Really a great guitar!

YES!!! I have one too, just like it. It's my second. Should never have sold my first one. Love it!

I used to have the Destroyer version of that guitar. 'Crafted in Japan' across the back of the headstock. Nice guitar.

That one and an all rosewood tele (George Harrison one) re-issue were the only two guitars I wish I still had today.

That is F-ing sweet. I had an 85 Phil Collen Destroyer that was pretty cool, except the saddles on the locking bridge were made of pot metal and popped off, and were extremely hard to find to replace.

my Rocket Roll is super sweet, it's an RR50, but it's on the market right now if anyone is interested

There's one of these for sale right here at RT, looks like a mahogany body, stained.

I think you are talking about mine, it's actually a standard RR50 with the paint stripped, not stained

I believe the body is "birch & basswood" in the RR50.

The OP has the RR400

this is it completely stock, which mine is, but just body paint stripped, was planning on painting it but don't have the time nor resources at the moment

That is the Ibanez V to have...

A couple of years ago they were bringing $1200-$1500, but the lat couple I have seen barely broke $1,000.

Good posts. For those who have them, I would like to see pics. If you have the destroyer, post em.

I had one like the OP's and the original with the V headstock, too. I spend so much time on the computer answering emails, that I just couldn't keep the V's in my lap since they slide right off.

I wound up selling them years back due to that, but they were fun guitars...total rock 'n f**king roll!

Not a pic, but I think it will do. :D The guitar is totally stock BTW.

Wow man, blast from the past - I remember those guitars from when I was in highschool... You did a sweet job polishing it up  Lucky kid :D

I've seen them around periodically, local to the Canadian trade, in and around $1000 to $1300. The lowest I saw was asking $799, but it was pretty worn. I'd say it's about the same for the US market, and we're at parity dollar, so whatever...just make sure your kid doesn't sell it

Best,
V.
