Can you route effects like chorus and phaser to the input of the amp, then route delay and verb to the effects loop? If not, then they just haven't nailed it yet.

Yep like Stratboy said with the 4 cable method you can route effects and the loops for your pedals pretty much any way you want. I also read that in the new software you can put a modulation block in the reapeats of the delays so that they are just in the repeats.

Well yep it is BUT I did some more research and seems some people have had issues with ground loop hum using the 4 cable method. However using a $60 Ebtech Hum Eliminator on the cables running to your loop send and return gets rid of it.

I have one that i use with my Splawn Quickrod,it controls all my channel switching as well-sounds very good if you spend the time with it like any effects system,i use the 4 cable set up so the wahs ect are in front of the amp and chorus etc are in the loop.

oh man clean up those cables! take the unit out from underneath and place on your head, then you can use short 1' or less cables and then send one cat5 out to the controller. that was the best thing i ever did, and if i use my wireless i have an even CLEANER floor setup, just one single cat5 to the controller. sweet!

Point taken! although i am normally not so messy, that day we were trying out our new PA system and were concentrating on that. I took your advice and removed the unit and now just run a cat cable! great stuff!!

i never had that problem. it seems alot of people are getting into trouble with the compressor/noisegate, having it on when they are unaware of it, and then saying the unit sucks. it took me a week or so to adjust all the levels properly but once its set its the shit. reading this makes me wanna go play it now...
