Lyle addresses EVH 5150 quality issues. He hasn't checked out the Iconic, but says more expensive ones are built like crap. Flimsy construction, etc. 5150 segment is at the 22:50 mark.

I watched a video of the lead guitarist for Flat Black, Jason Hook. They took every modern high gain head they could find and compared. They all walked away preferring the EVH Stealth 100 EL34 as the biggest, chunkiest and chuggiest.
I'm looking at a bunch from the Bogner Ecstacy to EVH to Diezel D-Mol to Splawn Nitro.
That said I do find it beat to use what works for you. For example, I've known for years that Bogner work so well for me.
I'm curious what is the difference between the EVH EL34 100 and EVH EL34 Stealth III 100?
Of course, we are all different and have our unique taste.
