Is it me or do Ultex picks sound brighter?

I use the Dunlop Flow .73mm picks and they are made out of the Ultex material. I love the immediacy and the percussive click they add to the note. I used Tortex for years and then when I heard and felt the Flow and compared them tonally I have never looked back. I mean, if I am going to go through the trouble of picking a bunch of notes in a row I want that in your face click added in so you can tell I am picking every note. lol

I can't stand some of those softer materials and the smoother, rounder tones. I mean, I don't own a single pair of tan Dockers. I don't want tan Dockers pick attack :)

I loved the Ultex picks when they came out! There is a “chime” in their tone. You can drop one on a concrete floor and hear a “plink” that I don’t hear in other picks. Maybe the pics made of rock do that too? Not sure.

I’ve used nothing but the regular black Jazz IIIs forever now.
