2 years is too long. But DAMN, Marks mods do sound killer. So much so, I want another Modded Marshall.

Dave just rushed this out to me for a record I started yesterday and it sounds f**kin' monsterous.

He gave it 'The Brown Eye' with a deep knob and secondary saturation knob. Insane sounding. I worked for a guitar repairman for years that dragged endlessly on people's guitars, I saw the missery it brought first hand. Dave's a good dude.

How do his mods spound vs marks? Does dave goop up the board? Is he expensive?

His mods are more true to the Marshall sound, more vintage and organic sounding. Not the compressed Boogie vibe that you may be accustomed to. He also answers his phone, answers emails and when he says he ships, he does. Usually about $500.00. Honestly, I feel bad for most of these guys waiting for this long, I wouldn't have the patience, I'd be literally steaming by now.

All of that is correct but he does have some high gain mod's in his arsenal like the Brown Eye, Custom and The Angry Hippie Mod which is supposed to be over the top high gain.

I am having the Brown Eye mod done with an extra gain stage so I can use a push pull to toggle between Brown Eye and Angry Hippe. My model is the Joe Holmes/ Slave to the Grind tone.

Thats the part I don't understand. I have heard family problems and medical problems or both.

I understand that if you have a family member that is dying it would be hard to talk about, but it would take a lot of the flack off him, and people might understand.

Then again if you have a drug/alcohol problem which has been denied or some serious health/disease issue you may want anonymity.

It is amazing people still line up to get Marks work after all this.

As far as what I know, 1st of all I have never met Mark in person, him and I are not like best buddies, I know what I know due to the simple but true fact that, PEOPLE WILL ALWAYS TALK! But out of respect to him, myself and others, I will not speak out about things that are not my business. I will keep them to myself and do what is right. I agree with what is being said about there being a better understanding if more facts came to light. 100 percent. But the man himself has to read that story, as it is his and his alone. He does have a true gift no doubt and as I have posted, I would love to talk with him purely from a musician's standpoint. But something else that is ALWAYS SAID, He does STILL have people lined up for his work. One simple reason why aside from the gifted amp work, is HE HAS ALOT OF SOLID FRIENDS. Like I said I am just an outsider, a noobie to his amps. I do have some of his work coming to me, but I had to look into his amp work and understand what I could the best I could before I spent any money. I do this before I buy ANYTHING. And what I am posting are facts that either were blatently apparent if YA LOOK PAST SOME OF THE CRAZY BULLSHIT WE ALL READ and I met several of Mark's real friends and or clients that liked me enough and I guess knew I could be trusted enough to give me the limited 411. So I guess THERE IS NO BIG SECRET, JUST A LINGERING SITUATION THAT GETS TO MUCH TIME SPENT ON IT. But in fairness to anyone out there with a wait, to keep one's integrity every single trans action should be viewed seperately. NOT as some stereo typed class action drama bullshit. I guess anyone with a real problem might just want to try and call the man. And speak with him NOT AT HIM, OR DOWN TO HIM. Like I said, I am a cmaeron NOOB! But I do know this.... MARK's not perfect, no one is. THEY SAY THERE WAS ONLY ONE OF THOSE GUYS! So everythings good.

Well if there's a lingering situation that gets too much time spent on it, then why would Mark decide to launch a business, take orders, and then F the customer? Not smart and not cool...regardless of what the situation is. This sort of thing has been going on for years before he even launched the amp line.

Brad, due to your past threads on here and HRI, Dave is calling that mod the Hairy Brown Eye mod. ? How much longer on that purple plexi ? I hope you post some clips. After the holidays, I am looking to have a JMP modded with the Hairy Brown Eye. I am also waiting to hear Tonefreaks Naked amp that Dave is building him.
