I stumbled on to his site last year some how, Ended up reading a lot on there, thought it was pretty cool..

What are the 2 heads below the Recto's??
I know he used Solid state Randalls prior to all of that..
Yeah, those are Randalls. I think he just started blending in the Recto's towards the end of WZ. I don't think they were ever on records.

Awesome find OP

As awesome as WZ was, seems like info is kind of limited on them compared to other bands...

He actually used rectos on one album. astro creep
I was just reading that

After all these years and I never knew that. That has always been one of my favorite albums/tones.

Damn, I guess I will have to move my amps around and blend my Randall 200II and Triple Recto to see what it sounds like

Mine are on different floors of my house, so thats a lot of work

What is funny, is the settings in that pic above on the Randall is VERY close to what I called the "White Zombie" setting on my Randall. I guess I have good ears, lol. I didn't even know pics of his amps existed. Very cool to see them.

Oh, I hate moving 4x12's up stairs... and btw, one thing J. yuenger used on his randalls are the MXR flanger/doubler he got this from dimebag. on the pic shown above he has them taped over, but On the pic below, he has them uncovered.

Yeah, I read that. I knew he basically had a Dime clone rig. If you drop the mids and up the presence from the WZ settings, you basically get the VDOP tone.

I don't know exactly what that MXR unit does. Is there a modern equivalent? I guess I always figured a subtle chorus would do similar..

I dont know really what it does. But maybe it doubles the guitar, and makes the sound thicker.

Not to derail the discussion, but reading this thread reminded me that I had an old 7" Super Charger Heaven single, signed by the band. Now I'm wondering if this thing has any value or not. I loved the band, but I really have no use for this piece of memorabilia and maybe someone else might like to have it?

Anyone have any clue?

That is what I figured, but in my experience doublers always sound like a slight chorus, or a weird delay with extremely short time. Both tend to sound artificial and not sound like the same sound but thicker. I guess I wonder what makes this thing different.

it gives a slight delay that thickens up the overall sound, kinda emulating a second guitar.... you can do it with a delay set at a very quick repeat.

See, Ive tried that with my DD-3, which goes down to 12.5ms I think. It still normally sounds weird. Did Dime and J run it before the amp?

This guy seems to be into gear someone should E-mail him and invite him here.

I saw white zombie in philly in around 94 or 95, fuckin cool show! It was a wierd mix in the crowd, the Ramones opened up
