Going to throw a Charvel USA Select So Cal in the ring too, one's popped up.
What did ya get? Been a while, so I probably missed it if you posted a NGD.

I've played a few Jacksons, never loved them. I think I don't like neck-thru guitars.

My Suhr Modern Flame Satin is one of the best playing and sounding guitars I've had. Keeps up with my Gibsons.

Recently played a Tom Anderson that was pretty awesome.

I've had a couple of MIM Charvels, and have one of @scottosan Charvel-type partscasters with MJT roasted alder body, Musikraft birdseye maple neck and Floyd Rose. I call that one Blackie, and it plays and sounds better than the MIM Charvels.

I've owned both, albeit the Jackson was awhile ago now. The only thing I can say is that while I really liked the Jackson, I don't miss it. I would miss my Suhr if I sold it as it is an absolutely amazing instrument.

Ended up grabbing a Suhr Modern with a Floyd, but it came and went pretty quick. We used it for a bunch of videos then decided it was ready for a new home. Same with the PRS Custom 24 we had - very nice but ultimately nothing special enough to keep. A good Les Paul though? That shit you keep for life.

I love Jackson - But Suhr is a different level. The amount of science into just picking wood for bodies, neck curing, stainless frets, PLEKd and set up meticulously.

LOUD guitars not plugged in and that says a lot.

Yeah IME both those guitars tend to have sterile tone. Sold fast the PRS’s & Suhr’s I used to have as well. I think the poly finish is part of it and Floyd’s also ime are not good ingredients for a good tonal recipe

I'm Jonesing for the Adam Jones Standard. Needing an LP back in my life.
This post doesn't help. I have 20% off at MF.

Jackson all day>>>>>>

Own a few USAs. Easily my favorite guitars. I guess the other thing too is I would never pay a premium price for a bolt on guitar. But that’s just me and my preferences.

I think the Suhr would be my choice here. No knocks to Jackson but I just tend to like Suhr stuff more

Stainless steel frets is would be the deciding factor in my opinion. If Jackson SL2H had SS frets, it would be my first choice simply because it's neck-through and has that classic shredder feel. It's the ultimate pointy.

Had too many bad experiences with CS Jackson models and a SL2H soloist. From paint issues to hazy side dots and headstock logos... I don't mess with heavily painted guitars anymore and have come to learn I prefer unpainted necks. I'd go for an HSS suhr modern over the Jackson myself!

Funny, I'm sitting here comparing my Suhr and Jackson SL2mg. I love the Suhr. It's at the top of the list if I had to trim down to a couple of electrics.
That said, the Solosit is a blast to play. I quite enjoy it. It's what I'd reach for to do to riffing and straight up shredding.
The Suhr does all of that just as well, with more clarity, tons more versatility, and overall much finer feeling instrument.

I love (and own) both, but I would suggest making sure your picking hand is comfortable with the Jackson’s volume knob placement. For some people like me the knob is in the way and I move it accidentally when playing. No issue with the Suhr modern for me.
Stainless frets on the Modern.
The other thing that bugs me on my hard tail Jasckson is the tuning stability. It is totally fine with the Floyed and nut lock, but less great with the hard tail version. The Jackson’s headstock and angle is not ideal for tuning stability, while Suhr Modern headstock design is great.
