to my ears it does. Again, all preference. But i like it there in comparison to a colder bias.

Aaaarrrrghh! I hate auto correct! I meant to say 6550, not 5150.
Aint it a bitch...I can hardly spell anymore with all the autos***.

Either way, I still thought you were referring to the VH4.

Just a little history on the Peavey 5150. I was one of the first ones to come up with what is known as the "integrated quad" power tube config for the 5150. This was back when folks thought that you could not mix and match different power tubes together. I worked with Eurotubes to get it right. 2xEL34 & 2x6L6GC in my PV 5150. The integrated quad was the s*** for the 5150. I wish I still had that amp - it smoked.

And you think that cracking the bias really makes a big sound difference?
In general, cranking up the BIAS will result in a more crisp tone. Lowering the BIAS will result in a warmer tone.

Lowering the bias results in a cold sterile tone with
more headroom for bass which is ideal for metal.

Increasing the bias will cause a warm tone with
a big advantage on the clean channel.

Please read about AB and B settings on a tube
power amp.

I read this off the Cryoset site a while back.

I'll take your opinion in the end.
