I'd keep those 6550's in it. That amp should kill with them.

I have modded Marshall’s with both EL34 and 6550. Any differences could be made up with preamp tubes or pedals. IMHO it’s not worth the hassle between them.

Hmm you guys are making me think! I may have to experiment with some preamp tubes now...
