I just got one of the blacked out Les Paul studios and love it! I haven't had a Studio since I had my 1993 one back in the day. Always regretted selling it to a friend because it was my first American made guitar and first Les Paul. Now I'm a complete LP nut. Plays great, action is great and sounds nice up and down the fretboard.

Like I mentioned before, I've been pleasantly surprised with Gibson LP goodness lately.

Pictures or it’s a Chibson.

HNGD!
Been eying studios as of late. I think they’re cool guitars.

My brother had an early 90’s studio…just a smokin guitar.

Unfortunately drugs did their thing and he pawned it.. a buddy of his swooped in and bought it when he heard about it. Still has it …I keep trying to buy it back. MF won’t have no part of it.

Here is a pic if you guys haven't seen one. Really cool how the pickups and inlays are subdued and hardware is black. Like a great Metallica LP. Lol

So more info, I guess it is limited and only available at Guitar Center, etc. Has Gibson Super 57' pickups, with a coil tap. Sounds great thru my 5150-III!

Looks nice. I saw this on GC’s website. I like the blacked out look, but haven’t played one yet. I’ve wanted a wine red LP for awhile….since I played a bunch of them that were at the Hollywood GC years ago. I like the feel of the Studios. I’d probably have pulled the trigger on a nice one I played a few months ago but I heard Epiphone will be releasing a wine red Cantrell LP custom like his Wino. I haven’t played a guitar with a richlite fingerboard like this blacked out Studio has. How does it feel? And what do the pickups sound like? I think the regular studios have the 490/498 pickups in them…which I really like. I’ve even put a 498 in a few different guitars I like that pickup so much.

Bump. Still digging it? I saw one the other day. Looks slick. How's it play and sound?

Oh man, love the fretboard and really like the pickups! Has no mud and that percussive quality where you can hear so much definition, etc. I just played an SG the other day and didn't like it as much as this one

Still digging it! I have yet to find a flaw with it and l8ke playing it more than my Standard. I know that sounds like sacrilege. Lol

It is a nice, solid guitar and lighter so sounds great but easy to sling around. I'm really enjoying it and takes me back to when I had my 93' Studio. I saw another one at a different Guitar Center and almost bought it...lol

I may go back and play the one at GC. I'm looking at it, and a 2010 Silverburst LP Studio that matches my SG from the same year:

Looks like the Gibson Les Paul Studio Gothic I bought back in the early 2000s. Fun guitar to play. Congratulations!

I have really been digging the new Gibson stuff and I'll tell you that for awhile I was disappointed with their quality, etc. I don't know exactly what they fixed but it is an overall feel, sound, etc.

It is an attention to detail and I think before this they just were getting too comfortable and thinking fans would just deal with it. I was nearly done with them and I'm a fanboi. Glad they have returned to what I remembered.

You should play both studios together and see what you think.
