So i finally pulled the trigger and picked up a bogner ubershall twin jet. I have never played a twin jet but have tried the rev 2 uber. Currently i own a blockletter 5150, and was curious as to what the tonal differences are in the lead channel of the 5150 compared to the TJ ?? Just curious what to expect for those who have played both

Congrats. Awesome pickup. I feel sorry for your neighbors though

Just my guess: It's going to be louder and probably has more gain and bottom end on tap. I've never played a 5150 though.

Nice. I have been wondering for awhile if I should have gotten the Twin Jet instead of the blue rev.

Awesome! I know there is a KT88 mod that can be done just thinking if I want to do it or not. One thing I forgot to ask, what cab are you running it through?

It will be ran through my genz benz gflex 2x12 and or my splawn 4x12 with big blocks

Expect a very fun amp. Your friends will giggle like schoolgirls when playing it

I've got iPhone clips I'm just running through now - they're horrible sounding, but wtf, I'll get 'em up regardless (just editing to get the ones that sound as good as possible up without the crap).

Bottom line is my patience is running slim on taking shit vid clips, so I may just post the crappy ones, and will follow up with actual mic'd cab clips of the new glass installed. The A/B/C comparo I've been trying to achieve is a) too much work, b) not truly decipherable with an iPhone and c) taking too long.

As to the above posts - love the Uberschall for what it's worth - they're crazy lil' nuclear warheads

Mojo...er, HOP ALONG Mojo...

Ventura, lookin forward to hearing the clips regardless of the quality

TJ.....one of the amps that escaped my grasp.
I read the war between that and the REV BLUE and have no idea since I never played either.
Watched tons of clips on both....some flattering...some not. But the only way to tell is to plug in and let it rip!! :D
Congrats man!

I've owned a 6505+ which had more gain/saturation than the plain 6505, and the TJ tears it a new one. Twin Jet is just a beast. Super aggressive tone unlike almost any other amp I've heard. Be prepared to pee you pants if you are gonna A/B the 2 side by side. I have a TJ 1/2 stack on order...and still waiting for it, the waiting game sucks. Sucks bad. Playing the Cameron Atomica in the meantime...another amp with gobs of gain.

I find it funny too. I've got the TwinJet in amongst several other heads all lined up. It's actually pretty small... diminutive in size. It looks, I dunno, kinda humble and modest.

Damn talk about killer camouflage

LOL love the spammers.

So whats the verdict OP? I love me Rev Blue and need that clean channel but now I'm damn curious about the TJ....

You'll be surprised what kinds of cleans you can get out of the TJ if you dial back the gain to around 10:00 and crank the channel volume to match the second channel. You just really need to take the time to dial it in.

cool. So you can get totally clean on it? didn't know that. That's a big bon-us. I need to get my hands on the TJ one of these days.

To me they always sound like they lack body or if I push the bass like there's no sparkle to it
and the higher strings have that heavy bass to them. It's not a clean channel, sadly...

No. It's not an impressive clean like that of a Fender or Two Rock or the like...

People. The Uberschall, the TwinJet....they're fuckin' high-gain melt-yer-face shake-yer-knees bombastic amplifiers!!!!! WHY are we wanting cleans from them?!?!

Just had to ask... I rarely see discussions where people ask "so, that Princeton amp, how is it for high gain djent stuff??"

Just sayin', jusssssssssst syain'....
Mojo

Cause some people like to play on high gain amps but also like pristine cleans, you can find that
combo in penty of other amplification companies.

I didn't get to try the blue rev clean, some say it's great, personally I don't know why reinhold didn't
come up with 3 channel uber that has a shiva clean and xtc red drives and the ubers high gain. Or even just the uber's high gain and the shiva cleans, I think that amp could be unreal.

For my band's stuff I definitely need tight high gain sounds but also pristine cleans.
