I just picked up a TM 2x12 with the CL80's to go with my Mod50. I like them but wish the mids were a little more relaxed. I'm going to let them break for a while before I jump ship. If they don't work out for me I was thinking about picking up a pair of Scumback M75's. Is there a tonal difference between the 65 and 100watt version? I'm using the T/D and VX module and need a speaker that will sound great with both modules. I have a cab loaded with Blues that sound freakin' awesome with the VX but like shit with the T/D.

The 80's have a hefty break in period. I have a ET65 paired up with an 80 in my TM2X12 and it works out quite nicely. I tried a K100 in there but didn't like it.

I really want to try a M75 but can't seem to locate one on the used market. The Scumback speaker guy has been responding to a thread on another forum about the tonal differences between the 65 and 100 watt version and he said that the 100 has just hair more low end and will break up just a hair later also. That is from the horses mouth.

Wags, the M75 is a fantastic speaker no doubt, but with the stuff you play you definitely want at least one H75 in your cab along with the M75. Gives it a great flavor plus the H is a bit more scooped sounding to get that solid bass and high and with the grinding mids of the M75, it's a really good mix. I have the HP versions in my TM212 and I have the middle part removed. Just sounds huge and full spectrum.

Fek is right about the 80 and break in time too. Give them a while and really hit them with loud clean volume as much as you can.

Fek my friend, I may be able to help you out again with an M75..........hit me up with a pm man.

In a a lot of ways I think Bruce got it right with the Elite 80s. I love them in the Egnater TM212! I might try something different in the spring, but no rush.

Wags, I could send you one M75 to try out if you like. I tried one mixed with the 80 and it wasn't so hot. But with the TM212, you can plug in only one side so you can see how it's going to sound.

You rock brother!!!I'm still diggin the G75T and Elite 80,no needs for change, playing it now at deafening levels :D And no one around is complaining so must be good

Jason brings up a good point. Maybe try a 75 with an 80 first and see how you dig it! Certainly cheaper than the scummies right off the bat.

Thanks for the offer. I have a 30 watt version of the H75. Great sounding speaker but not enough headroom for the Eggie. I'm going to gig the cab for a month before I think about changing speakers. I might end up liking the Elite 80's.

I hear you. That's why I like the 65 watt versions better. Really beat on those 80's man. You may dig 'em.

I'm going crank through them. Ever since getting the TS 5881's my tone has been awesome. The cab sounds great and I'm hoping that after a while the speakers will loosen up a tad.

They will.

Amazing how much tubes make a difference huh?!

The tubes make a huge difference. The TS5881's sound so much nicer to my ear than the Sovtek's. Also I have RCA 12AX7's in the T/D module. What a difference over the WA's. The VX sounds great with a JP5751 in V1 and a Philips Holland in V2.

Is the G12T-75 mixed with one Elite 80 that much better than two 80s???? I mkight try it man.

Did you try the G12K-100 yet or the G12K-100/V30 mix?

Yep,75 and the 80,No real need to try the G100K or the V30,as I like it just the way it is

Jason, what do you like about the mix over the stock CL-80 pairing? I was going to set up one cab with your mix and one with the K-100/V-30 mix. I know the V-30 can be beamy but I am thinking the pairing with the K-100 will balance it out. I also saw a friend gig with a Mesa cab and two V-30s and I saw no issues, just great tone and no beaminess. ;) :)

The elite is very balanced and the 75 brings the hair :D

I do not like the fizzies so that worries me. Right know more at practice nest week.

Jason, played again for a while last night. Mod 50 into TM 212. The Elite 80s are incredibly warm and clear sounding all across the spectrum. Very smooth, clear, open, round and warm tone. I don't know if I could or would want to replace these. I can't imagine Scummies would get me any closer to Nirvana. :)
