Jason, played again for a while last night. Mod 50 into TM 212. The Elite 80s are incredibly warm and clear sounding all across the spectrum. Very smooth, clear, open, round and warm tone. I don't know if I could or would want to replace these. I can't imagine Scummies would get me any closer to Nirvana. :)
Exactly what I hear from the 80s,the 75s just give some crunch and to me,that's a lot better for what I'm looking for

Put Scumbacks in it....either 2 M75s ...or a M75 / H75 combo. They RULE! :)

Yes sir! The $20/speaker discount still going on right now certainly makes it hard to resist - puts Scummies in the same price range as new Celestions.... I'm almost ready to pull the trigger for my TM 212.

I have never mixed a 75 but on their own I find them a touch harsh.
I bet the CL-80 mix will be more articulate and more revealing of mistakes compared to mixing with the 75 since that uses a lighter magnet.

Was it warmer before or after adding the 75?

You get Scumbacks yet?

You know I have, just not in my domain yet   Need to save for a PT.

Have you tried removing any of the back panels? I played through a 412 with two missing speakers and it sounded huge! So.....I removed the top panel of my Egnater 212 and it sounds even bigger but not exactly the same since the sound escapes out the back.

In the last few years I have tried a lot of speakers and cabs and have settles on all Celestion, V30s, K-100s, CL80s, Lynchbacks and soon, Creambacks. I thought Scumbacks were a little too, eh, average and dull for my tastes. I enjoy the lively feel and tone of Celestions.
