Not sure if you do paid work for others but people would pay for these type of mods

I am going to start taking on some work. The amp in this post is the first one I've done for someone else other than myself. I'm currently coordinating with some guys here to get some more amps under the knife. I need to be careful that I manage things correctly so that amps get done on time and with attention to detail. No rushing or cutting corners. This mod in particular is extensive and requires a lot of time. There are lots of shielded connections, lots of components, and I get a little OCD about the work inside.

With guys like Cameron and Fortin etc...no longer doing mods, there's definitely a need for some good modded amps. I'm certainly not saying I'm either of those guys, or that I can replace them, but I can say I'm really excited about the way these amps have turned out. I hope to at least get some out into the wild for some real world feedback.

I think Shea has been doing a phenomenal job with Monomyth as far as offering mods and now a production amp that both fill the void left by Marshall modders who have moved on in one way or another. I know we both like the high gain, tight and aggressive style, but we still have a different ear when it comes to the final product. Again, I'm not saying I'm at his level, or some sort of "competition" to him, that's not how it is. My point only being that it's a good thing for people out there to have guys starting to produce some good sounding/ feeling amps again. And different styles of mods just creates that many more choices for the end user.

Hey Redplated I have to ask.... What are you using a labelmaker for your faceplate? They look great.... is the label tape a gold tone backing or clear?

The font looks great as well.

Hey, thanks... Yeah it's a Brother P Touch label maker. Clear labels with black lettering. I'm using various fonts depending on the specific label. I also cut each one out as close to the letters as possible so they look cleaner.

It takes an easy hour to label an amp with all the switches. Some of the labels are tiny. I have to use a small flathead screwdriver to position them.

I probably burned two or three rolls of tape just getting the right font/ size, etc....

on my speakers which suck, it sounds a tad bright, is the brightness able to be tamed or changed in some way?

It may be the speakers making it sound that way.

But in either case, yes the top end is very adjustable. The negative feedback controls can work wonders for different cabs and speakers or guitars. It's got a negative feedback control on front. On the rear I've added a 3 way feedback tap selector switch. You can get 4, 8 or 16 ohm nfb taps at the flick of a switch. There are of course numerous other adjustable options on the amp that contribute to the overall brightness. I'll start a new thread at some point with more details on all the knobs and switches and what they do.

The whole premise of this amp was to make something that can be finely tuned to a sensitive ear. I feel like I have sensitive ears and hear the most insignificant frequencies. I want a way to alter those so that I can get the sound, response and feel I want. I haven't found an amp yet that's allowed me to do it. For me, this one does.
