Best I can tell it's a 2002 or 2003 model. The serial is 001/178, and after combing through the threads here asking to date an amp, that seems to fall into that range as far as I can tell.

I will most certainly keep you guys informed on what's going on with the amp.

Thanks to everyone for the help and advise.

Brian

Herr Diezel can tell you real quick how old the amp is, if his memory hasn't started going yet

2003 :salute:

Wow, just wow...

I have tried calling 3 times to no avail, I have sent messages here and only just yesterday received word that the amp had even arrived but the box had not even been opened yet even though it has been there since last Wednesday. I still have no answer as to how long I will be without my amp. I am starting to feel like this trade was simply not worth it. :aww:

Everyone here has been very friendly, and I am grateful for the advice and help I have received, but I cannot deal with a company that refuses to answer my questions and return my phone calls. As soon as the amp is back in my hands it will be for sale and I will be looking into something that I can rely on to be there when I need it. My band is in the studio and I have no way to put down my tracks, and I have no estimate to give them as to when I might be able to get started. I am sure Diezel amps are wonderful, but after fighting with ENGL for so long, and now being kept on the back burner by Diezel, I am thinking boutique amps are just not going to work for me.

Please don't take this as disrespect, it's just a matter of business, and in the future I cannot have the business of my band on hold for weeks while my amp is in limbo.

Very sorry to hear you feel that way. Diezel is the best company I've ever dealt with from an amplifier, support, and service perspective. I don't know the particulars of your circumstance, but I do know that they are extremely busy and yet still manage to provide top-notch service to pretty much any and everyone I've ever heard of or read about (including myself). Moreover, without knowing what the issue is with your amp it's impossible to say whether a previous owner may have done something to it resulting in your having to send it in. Of course, I'm sure you know all this already. I also know how important it is to make progress with your band be it for recording, gigging, etc... so I can sympathize with your plight. At any rate, hope things get better for you soon and that you give the amp a chance once corrections have been made. I realize it's a tough time right now but this is a gem of an amplifier that I'm certain you'll love.

Whatever happens, I wish you the best.

I certainly understand being busy, and I know Terry has been moving the shop from Georgia to Tennessee, but I have had a very difficult time getting answers and estimates. I asked for prices and availability on tubes when at first Terry thought that was the problem, and never got them. I ended up getting tubes from Eurotubes just to be able to test and see if that was the problem.

I don't expect Diezel to be perfect and answer me within 5 minutes after posting a question, but as you can see this thread was started 20 days ago and I still have never received a price on the 6550's I asked for. Now I just need to know what's wrong with my amp, how much it's going to cost to fix it and how long it will take to get it back in my possession so I can get back on track with my band obligations. I am not asking to be put ahead of anyone else in need of repairs, I am just asking for communication so I can at the very least plan my studio time accordingly.

Like I said before, everyone here has been helpful and friendly, especially Peter and Terry. I just need to know what's up.

My apologies for ranting in public. Diezel does indeed have spectacular customer service, and I was just simply being impatient due to pressure from my band and the studio we are using. They can both learn some patience just like I obviously need to.

Terry is doing all he can, and has explained the situation in detail, so there are no problems whatsoever.
