Just setup a small, fairly portable wet/dry rig...

Since the other guitarist in my band just quit, I thought I'd try a wed/dry setup to fill out the sound a bit...wow, I should have done this before. Sounds huge.

I'm using the Suhr iso line out from my Marsha into a Gmajor2 then into the little 44 magnum power amp...plenty loud for the local places we play. For now I'm using two Port city 2x12's (brought home the one I keep at our rehearsal space) but hope to downsize to a 1x12 for the wet cab.

I'm pretty psyched that I was able to keep everything on a 4 space shallow rack...furman, gmajor2 and a shelf with a Pedal Power2, RJM Mini effect gizmo, Badgerplex, Wilson vibe, Whirlwind Phaser, Suhr Line out box and the Mag 44 amp...it's tight, but it all fits! I've got a little Peak 4 button midi controller that's phantom powered from the effect gizmo, so just one cable.

I was trying to keep all this as compact as possible and I'm pretty pleased...

Cruddy pic before it was all mounted.

Killer rig man! That looks really cool

How is the headroom on that little 44 Magnum Poweramp? I'm thinking of putting together a rig just like this (minus the Effect Gizmo and pedals etc) and i have been considering the 44 Magnum just to save space and keep the overall weight down.

Thanks all!

Dan, I'm not sure how much headroom there is as I haven't really cranked it yet, but I'm sure it's plenty for my needs. I usually run my Marsha about 10-11 oclock on the master for the places we play. And I'm all about keeping the size and weight down too. Well, as much as possible.

Ok, maybe "small rig" wasn't the best desciption :)

"Small rig" in size, but i bet the tone is massive!!

If the 44 Magnum can compete with the Marsha w/ Master at 10-11 o clock then it sounds like it would be fine for my needs too. I was planning on running my rig same way as yours, but just using a couple of Lexicon PCM-41's or Roland SDE-3000's in the wet side of the rig.

It's amazing how huge Wet/Dry can sound, even when using smaller cabs. I mean take Steve Lukather for example, for years he did Wet/Dry/Wet with three 1x12's and he was getting a gigantic tone!

nice!

Every time I read about Wet/Dry/Wet rigs I kick myself for not fixing up my 2nd 4x12 cab that still sits in the corner...

Same here. I have a 212 and a stereo 412. W/D/W potential but I keep putting it off.
