to be honest with you guys, I haven't tried any valve to lower the gain... feel free to experiment. I'd start changing V2 to see if there is enough gain reduction.

Yeah there is more than enough gain in there! Though you might lose too much in the Crunch / Clean channels depending on the tube layout. Did you try the Clean channel set up like a plexi?ejecta":1c959 said:>|<>QBB<
Oh your right and thats what I do, I just like playing around with the tubes to see what it does. If I can knock it down a bit Im thinking it would make all the modes more useful to me.

you're killing me!Santiall":e7722 said:>|<>QBB<
yes, you may say that. I am the responsible of the switching delays, the pops, the low gain, lack of dynamics, the feedback... let's see what's next
Obviously there is a bunch of other colleagues in the drawing office, p. engineering, production etc etc making sure that the amps we design reach the customer and we are all very happy of the feedback we are having (of curse people's feedback, not the JVM feedback problem )

It's funny because it took Marshall over 20 + years to make a stock marshall that someone could say has to much gain!! Every Marshall that I have played since the late 70's has needed a pedal in front of it to get a decent amount of gain for metal. In my experiances, I would rather have to much then not enough !!
